Yes, intimidate!! EFCC investigation and prosecution we were told usually starts with a written complaint/petition against the suspect/accused.

When people were crying for the investigation of IBB and other high profile politicians, over suspected frauds, EFCC usually came with excuses of their inability to so do, because they do not have petitions against such politicians and even advice the complainant to go produce their petition and evidences before they (EFCC) can swing into action.

But in this case, because EFCC feel they are not getting enough judgement in their favour; with or without a petition, this same EFCC is going into an investigation. EFCC in this case is both complainant, petitioner, investigator, accuser, prosecutor and judge. Pray, tell how this is not an attempt to intimidate the judiciary!!

Judges "frustrating" probes sounds like another terms for judges not agreeing with Buhari's one-sided prosecution of political opponents.
In a dictator's world, anybody with a different point of view is an enemy worthy of elimination.
Raise your hand if you missed the good old days judges were issuing ruling left and right against GEJ, and still he did nothing to get 'frustating' judges out of the way.

Clearly a case of Intimidation and Bullying.

Executive should not take it upon itself to tell judges what to do in a court of law. So the EFCC wants to be judge and jury?.Judges are not interested in propaganda or character assassination of opposition. Once judges are not free to deal with the law and interpret it the way it should be interpreted-out of fear of the executive-then we are into full blown dictatorship. EFCC can engage in verbal accusations as much as it likes, but what matters is cold incontrovertible evidence properly presented leading to the establishment of guilt before a judge. Until that happens, all Nigerians are presumed innocent by the constitution. EFCC needs to raise its game rather than investing in blame game. And the President must not use it as a cover to score cheap political points.

They want to be allowed to violate people's rights at will. EFCC should follow due process in carrying out their duty. And they should do thorough investigation before arresting a suspect. Judges should not allow themselves to be blackmailed by the EFCC.

Are EFFC now telling us that every action they take follows "text book rules". I believe the burden of proof still depends on how well they prove the cases they bring before the judges.Also there is room for appeal if they are not impressed with the outcome.A lot of time EFFC has been known to bungle many cases because of sloppy side prosecution.What I expect from them is focus on due follow of the cases and avoid scenarios where they are thrown out because of insufficient evidences or proper prosecution.

Charge the judges to court too for obstructing officers of the law from performing their duty.

Same that Judiciary that ruled that Atiku was eligible to contest when Obj "indicted" him with his Kangaroo tribunal? No foul play
Same court that made Amaechi the governor of Rivers? No foul play
Same court that ruled in favour of Tinubu at CCT? No foul play
Same court that reaffirmed Ambode's election? No Foul play.
Same court that ruled that GMB didn't have to appear before Oputa Panel to answer question on human right violations against Naija folks when he was military head of state?? No foul play
Same court that ruled that GMB was eligible to contest in presidential without presenting his certificate?? No foul play

EFCC arrests a suspect without proof, obtains an Ex Parte Order (Order made in the absence of the other party) to detain him indefinitely, tortures the suspect to make statements (even though the Constitution guarantees a suspect's right to refuse to make any statements and remain silent), forces the suspect to incriminate himself JUST TO REGAIN HIS FREEDOM, charges him to Court with half-baked proof of evidence and inelegant charges and comes to press to shout WE ARE PAITING KWARAPTN!!!!

EFCC should know that the Constitution guarantees the INNOCENCE OF AN ACCUSED UNTIL THE OTHERWISE IS PROVEN IN A COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION.

EFCC Should know that they CANNOT ARREST AND DETAIN PEOPLE MORE THAN 48 HOURS WITHOUT INFRINGING ON THE PERSON'S FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS.

EFCC Should know that the Judges do not deliver these Rulings and Judgments without according EFCC an opportunity to defend themselves.

EFCC should know that the Rulings and Judgments of FCT High Court Judge are not final, they are subject to Appeal.

EFCC is simply crying WOLF. I Seriously doubt if they will secure any meaningful conviction until the end of this administration if they continue this way.

dint bother to read the post l, I only wanted to say the judiciary is one institution that I hate the most in this country. the greatest obstacle we have to solving our greatest problem which is corruption.

I have problem with EFCC position, Efcc takes too much cases than they could handle thereby doing shoddy jobs hence giving room for Judges to hit back on them.

Also, the pronouncement of Presidency & Efcc labelling judiciary as corrupt is a declaration of war which could make the judges squashed their cases evenwithout collecting a dime.

For the benefit of the ignorant, the EFCC does not have any powers under the current constitution to set up any special tribunals or courts to try corruption suspects. If the want to create any such courts, they would have to go through the NASS
