Picture this situation.
What if Manchester city fail to qualify as one of the top 4 teams in England this season,
Man city beats real Madrid to advance to the champions League finals.
Bayern also progress to the finals.
Now Man city need to win the champions League to qualify for next season with Guardiola taking over from at Man city next season.
If you were Guardiola would you rather win with bayern and not compete in the champions League with man city, or would you throw the match to Man city and qualify for the champions League automatically next season?

Okay let's picture it that Man City and Bayern were to play the final. This suppose dilemma will make no sense unless Guardiola hire mercenaries rather than Bayern players. So Op anything that happens to Man City's top four hopes is for Guardiola to shoulder and savour.
