I wrote this poem in 2012 during my service year. Its relevance now cannot be underestimated considering the state of the nation. All rights reserved @Joshworld.
Feel free to criticise.

NAGGING ThOUGHTS

Who taught the cockerel how to crow
Who taught the he-goat how to bleat
Who taught the lion when to roar
Or gave the hissing sound to snakes

If they all learnt their sounds from birth
If they can do well without school
If they can strive to feed their own
Oh man why would you fail at all?

With all books yet fail to learn
With all learning no knowledge to show
When will you learn to get it right
Saving your world from damnation

No food to feed our own again
No house to shelter from the cold
No air to breath, its all poisoned
To stay alive is just by grace

Why don't we try to put it right?
Why don't we try to solve our woes?
To die and rise is to die twice
My people this is all I have to say.
