Very simple terms in account now is a big problem for him to explain and analyse (debit and credit question) up til now, he has not gotten a job.
What i'm trying to let you understand is that, 1.1 or 2.1 can never guarantee you job except you have something to offer. I swear, majority of graduate with good grades are not in anyway better than 2.2 or third class. They only crammed to pass the exam, and after the exam everything will disappear from their skull. Did you think that kind of certificate can get that person a job? Some wrote exam and pass but they dont know the meaning or how to apply it to real life.
I understand that having good grade is good, but boasting as if is a tickect to get automatic employment is bad

Just making you understand that First class is not a function of being a genius.. Whether you said so or your VC, but of you need to correct that assumption... There are lots of third class graduates that are better than all the first class put together.

No one hates 1.1 and 2.1 students as much as nairalanders. You hear them say not all 1.1 really deserved their class of degree. Yea, I agree. But then graduating with a FC shows that person is committed, hardworking and ready to use all means necessary in other to achieve a goal which is in it self a redeemable quality- one which every employer would kill for. Or would you rather have someone who claims to be really good but is not hardworking enough to deliver the goods right on time? I'm an FC student. I'm not taking a this stance to defend myself though. I've seen many 2.1 or 1.1 students who couldn't even do a simple class presentation in simple correct English. The same guys are wizards in engineering mathematics and the likes. It doesn't take anything away from their quality and genius.

Everyone can't be perfect. - write or speak Queens English to prove their talent. I just think when someone graduates with a good result society places a target on their back, looking for a weakness to make a meal off. This attitude is in it self umhealthy.

Someone once stumbled on my documents and saw my passing out grade and next thing he was ranting about how no one dead or living has graduated with an FC in the same department in his school. Few weeks later on the news, I watched the best graduating student with an almost impossible GPA from that school march to the podium in flurry of applause.

People would always find a reason to play down on others achievement. While I admit an academic result may not be a true reflection of a person ability, I believe those who managed the feat should not be persecuted but encouraged.

We are all in this rat race together irrespective of our class of degree.

You will be seeing things like

**If they don't say that, they will start reminding you that first class and 2.1 does not give job, connection gives job
**Another thing they say is this, first class ko, 2.1 ni, come to FUTA and know whether you go even smell 3rd class
**Another thing they do is scrutinizing your write-up for any possible error so that they will use it against you to prove that your 2.1 is meagre

**Another set of people will keep on yelling like PDP supporters telling you that most people that graduated with 2.2 are practically better than those that graduated with first class. That first class and 2.1 are empty vessels and robots who are only good in cramming

Now I just have to say this and wait for the backlash (don't care either). The bitter truth is:
1. Though we are humans, created the same and of equal opportunities. We can choose to be king or to be peasants. You don't just stumble upon royalty (1st & 2.1) because of luck but working very hard to achieve it. Failure is easier to achieve than success.

2. There is no path between lion and men.

So if peeps are hating on you because of your achievements then know that they are highly jealous and wish to be in your position.
I remember n 2014 during my NYSC when my roommates saw my degree and from that day I became their answering machine and if I happen to have no idea of what they are saying, then they say'I thought you are a first class grad' and my answer 'I am just a man and not a machine'.

NB: True first class/ 2.1 students are students with exceptional/ adequate understanding of their field, quick to learn, innovative and will replicate their success anywhere in the world. And not a master of all. E.g many great mathematicians, engineers, doctors and scientists are very terrible in English and with bad hand writing, facts.

In Nigeria, many graduates are looking for work just for the money and not for innovation. Being ahead of a 1st/2.1 in an interview as a 2.2/3rd is not a measure of your success but interviews are like 'football penalties'. In the developed world, 1st/2.1 are mostly taken because they have a higher probability of working on their own initiatives and they can be very innovative. Reasons why NASA, Apple, Google, media house like CNN, BBC, are all known to have the best graduates working for em.
