I will go with Peak 1, 2, 3. It is tailored for children aged 1 to 3 years. Your Child's brain is still growing and you want his nutrition to be touch notch with the appropriate nutrients till he is at least 2 years. Then, you can introduce Dano.

Get a bucket of hot water and place baby on your laps nut in such a way that the steam.from the water can be inhaled by the baby. Them cover with a towel so the full effects can be felt. But ensure you hold baby firmly to avoid accidents. Of you don't have enough confidence please don't try this.

Or just massage baby's chest and back with a heated towel so the steam can go into the body well.

You may add eucalyptus oil or mentholatum into the hot water.
I don't know why I feel uncomfortable with the steam bath. Let's beware of burns.

Many thanks to u for prompt response, pls is texturizer the same as detangler? If no, will i get it in any supermarket?
(Lord knows why I'm doing this) sad

Relaxers and Texturisers are chemicals based on Sodium Hydroxide and Calcium Hydroxide. They are corrosive chemicals and cause a lot of burns on the scalp when applied wrongly. The difference between the 2 is that Texturisers are meant to be left on the hair for a shorter period. A texturiser is a lighter form of a relaxer. If you wanna put that harsh chemical on a child (when it is burning the scalps of millions of women around the world), that is your choice. But for the rest of us who would like to learn how to appreciate and manage our God-given natural hair texture, please continue reading.

African hair is very tightly coiled and thick and sebum doesn't travel up the strands as easily as Caucasian or Asian hair. That makes it prone to dryness and tangles. There is no such thing as stubborn hair, if your hair is hard to comb, it is because it is dry and kinky. There is a growing movement of women who are embracing theur natural hair and managing it well and it is growing to unbelievable lengths (the front of my hair is below my lips almost at chin-level natural. It's long). So the same tips that apply for them apply for anyone with natural hair (children and babies too).

Don't wash the hair frequently. Our hair ia already dry and most shampoos containing Sodium Laureth Sulphate (almost every shampoo on the market) dries it out further. If Baby E doesn't go swimming or rubs food in her hair, we wash once a week. She's not getting very dirty. Don't scrub at the scalp, add a little quantity of shampoo on hair, told baby's head back and wash once, rinse in that same direction to avoid the water entering her eyes.

Apply a conditioner, I use a leave-in conditioner. Conditioners' job is to soften and moisturize hair, and that makes it easier to handle. Adult conditioners tend to be heavy on younger hair because the strands are fine. There are children's lines like Kids Organics but even better there are organic lines like Cantu kids or Shea Moisture and even made in Nigeria ones like Shanyi organics (Hibiscus-based conditioner) or Natural Nigerian leave-in conditioner (Orange-based). Apply conditioner when hair is wet.

Apply either an oil or a butter: jojoba, coconut, almond or olive oils or Shea or cocoa butter work fine. This seals in the moisture and gives hair some slipperiness and allows combs to pass through the kinks.

You can wash once a week but add water and condition 2-3 times a week without washing. That is why you don't use an adult conditioner or use an organic conditioner, so that product build-up will be less and children don't itch at their scalps.

Use a big comb. Small combs snag in tangles and break the hair so use a big detangling comb first then neaten the hair with a small comb. Gently start at the tips of the hair and work upwards to the roots. Comb hair only when you have conditioned it and it is still wet.

Stop using rubber bands and tight accesories to style hair because I've seen babies whose hair has fallen out due to pulling tightly. Stop doing braid attachment (after the child has screamed her eyes out due to the tension from the braider she will now have to live with the heavy stuff on her delicate strands which will break). Baby E has patchy hair right now and some parts are long enough to plaid but I refuse to, I only add a hairband when she's going out. Don't comb hair often, infact just leave the hair alone. African hair is very fragile. If we are not going out, we don't comb out hair.

It is normal for babies upto 1 year to have patchy hair. It is not normal after 2 years for their hair to be scanty and patchy and breaking. And that is caused by mishandling. All those tight styles, braids and chemicals will result in them not having long hair by age 5.

All the products I've mentioned can be bought in Nigeria, there are stored who sell them online and will ship to you so please Google them. There are a lot of natural hair ladies who can explain more (Google them or go to Fashion section and ask them on their threads).

Zaynie, I hope I've fulfilled all righteousness and can be quiet now smiley

There's honestly no such thing as detangler, it's a marketing name for leave-in conditioner. My last experience with Kids Organics (which btw is very inorganic) was years ago. I thought it was okay. The new lines like Carol's Daughter, Shea Moisture and co are better but pricier. Shanyi Organics is organic and affordable (im currently using it now), Natural Nigerian is pricier but organic as well. It's upto you to decide because there are now a lot of products for natural hair and kids' natural hair (which is good). Google, there's almost too much info about what is good.

I just checked, Sucrose is no.4 on its ingredient list. Well, let Mothers look at the ingredient list of follow-up milk so they can decide which is best.

Almost 1 year ols? Yup. Jst make sure the pool is sanitary (almost all are becauae they chlorinate the water). We've been swimming since 6 months, if you can find a heated pool (Ikoyi club has one for example) 3 months old baby can go swimming. The only reason i won't take a newborn to a public pool in Nigeria is that it's a public pool and under 3 months is quite delicate. As for swim diapers, they used to sell them at Ebeano but not any more. They still sell swimsuits for babies and kids that you can wear over the swim diaper (to keep baby warm though it's not necessary). I've never checked Balogun market for them. I bought mine in the U.K. and I'm pretty sure Aliexpress has them. I got a pool noodle from GAME for N700 because those floaters were N1000 (in traffic) and they deflate easily (plus babies outgrow them).

I didn't want to say this o (before people start doing it) but my doctors have me permission to give my 10 month old follow-up milk because she wasn't drinking formula but could eat adult good. I don't do it often and decided to still breastfeed (we are weaning now and she's the same age as your boy). So ask your doctors, they may say it's fine.

On Motherhood Sometimes we suck their noses to remove mucous; wash kaka off their butt because really no amount of wipes would be enough to clean the smear (legs not spared); clean their vomit because you think everyone else is disgusted to do it ( and in any case it is unfair to make another human being clean your kid's vomit); barely get two hours of sleep a night; ensure all are tucked in bed before heading to bed amidst head splitting migraine; our chests literally tightening each time we imagine something bad is to happen to them; continously worry, even while deep asleep; but also understand and make sure all are safe, fed and happy.... Yet, they say we are the weaker sex. Today, I won't be modest, no Sir. I say we are made of iron and steel with generous dash of love. Here is to ALL mothers. To mothers who made the decision to take care of their kids full time. To mothers who have to go to the office after less than two ours of sleep. To mothers who prepare their power point presentations after midnight when everyone is in bed. To mothers who hassle to earn a living. To mothers who put up with the world's nonsense. Cheers to you all.

Good day mamas, I really appreciate the help u all r rendering to each other. May God bless each n every one of u. this is actually my first time posting here.. I have some questions that really keeps me worried.

1. Is it normal for a baby to jus start refusing to suck bosom milk. I ask dis cos my lo started doing this abt a month ago. Each time I try to feed him, he starts to scream, stretches n moves his face away like 'get this thing outa ma face'. Had to introduce formula because of this and I even have to force feed him the formula, I also have to force feed him pumped breastmilk. I have a manual pump wch I use to express bt I don't really get much with it. So pls I want to know if this is him trying to wean himself.

2. When I started giving him formula, I started with nan bt he wouldn't poo for like 3 days n even wen he does, he strains to poo n it's usually very thick, so I decided to change to aptamil. This made him start pooing up to 5 times in 24hrs.i only gave him the aptamil the day I bought it like 3 times, poo started dt day.had to switch back to the nan the nxt day. It's been 4 days now n he still poos up to abt 5times. Is this normal pls or do I need to take him to a pead?

3. When do babies eyes start to bring out tears cos there's usually no tears when he cries. He's 19 weeks

Am soooo sorry for the long post.. Pls help a confused ftm

looked it up and really the sugar content was ridiculously high in peak 123 compared to other milk. I hope they change this soon cos too much sugar does indeed cause problems in the long run
