The removal or non removal is not the actual issue. The issue is that the processes involved in the subsidy program is highly prone to corruption. hence, it is better to remove the subsidy.

Everything jona touched ended up as an avenue for massive unpunished looting, be it aviation, pension funds, political finance, proceeds from oil, arms.

Jonathan was blackmailed into increasing the minimum wage as a precondition for labour voting for him. The minimum wage was on his table more than 1 year before the election

He approved less than 10 weeks before the election of 2011
BTW how much was crude oil price when he increased the minimum wage and was its payment not delayed until well after the election?
