hmuhammad:No I haven't, and maybe I ll recover when fuel price returns to what it was in jonathan's administration. Electricity returns to how it was during jonathan's administration and the cost of buying things returns to what it was during jonathan's administration and subsequently a break in devaluation of my blessed naira ! |

sparrowkid:Thanks for the explanation if only the excuse of the minister on its own wasn't a fallacy. However, I still wanna opine that, with close monitor of the handling of the fix, that can be averted since the FG has powers and privileges at her disposal. This is better enhanced instead of pushing the brunt to the citizenry. My brother, things are already difficult and need no further hardship which will be the attendant effects of the increment. Thanks |

LadyExcellency:This is what is happening the FG is lying to us that they have not devalued the naira, but they give the Dollar to the secondary marketers to sell at #300 to importers. There is nothing like reduced foreign exchange, because it like a rotatary thing. You give out the dollar to buy goods, you sell goods at the same time to get the dollar. They just keep decieving us with foreign reserve theory. FG is at it height of hypocrisy and fraud. |

sparrowkid:I am an economist and I have never seen where price hike is a way of being competitive. In any industry, the big boys always bring the price of their product down and that will force the other companies in the same industry to do the same and those who can't will be forced out of the industry. Look at the telecom now. Look at how competitive the industry is. They all strive to bring the best package at a minimum price. The masses(the customers benefits) from that. When it comes to petroleum, NNPC is the big boy here and every other marketers in the industry look up to them. NNPC's price determine theirs. They(the major marketers) will always make sure that the price differential between NNPC and them will not be up to #5. NNPC is for FG and every government's aspiration is to protect the masses. As a government, you can't just single out that major product that has effect in every part of the economy and say you want to save. Save at the expense of the masses. As it is now, fuel is a necessity and should be treated as such. It is retrogressive to put the price of oil at the roof top and always down play any bill that talks about minimum wage increment. Subsidy removal is a good thing but price hike is 'soft genocide'. We all know how we react to every government's actions. This will lead to inflation. |

Why complain? Tinubu and others will have to collect their huge amount donated for buhari to win the election and whose pocket the money will come from, buhari would ask, from the suffering masses of Nigeria ofcourse through the fuel, tinubu replied. In that case i will fraustrate the suffering masses of Nigeria by taxing them heavy with fuel hike which they pay for by suffering and smiling, buhari said. Don't forget am taking 50% interest on my 300bn, tinubu replied. You are covered buhari said. You are now talking, i give you just two months to remit, tinubu replied happily. Do we have choice? We have to buy fuel for 145# for fgn to offset money donated from individuals for campaigns. Nigeria well hail thee, our own dear native land, (at the end it said) where No man is Oppressed and so with peace and plenty Nigeria may be blessed. In-deed Nigeria is plentifuly blessed. Good Lord, grant our one request where No man is Oppressed in mixed of plenty. Amen. |

FredN:Well said. However, I beg to differ in the "give them time" point. Nigerians are the most patient breed of humans I know. All our leaders begged for more time after squandering the ones given to them. We don't have time. Magic was promised, now we want nothing but magic. |
