mtn is a fraudulent network that steals from unsuspecting customers. mtn network exploits and defrauds Nigerians in manner they wouldn't dare to do in any other country. folks need to take action to stop the rouge network from further cheating people in these austere times.
only a few days ago, most people who had previously subscribed to the night plan of N2,500 and who still had valid data balances discovered, to their utter consternation and botheration, that their data balances had been wiped out! I was a victim. I had earlier made the subscription on two lines as I needed data to do some necessary work. no form of compensation was offered neither was there any explanations from mtn! such is the impunity of mtn towards Nigerians. I made a complaint here on nairaland (and I observed many people had also made same complaint) but was conveniently ignored by their so-called agents here. even when I called their s.tu.pid and grossly inefficient call center twice all I got was the flimsy excuse that, "mtn no longer offers night data plan"! if mtn no longer offers night plans, then why not refund the balance on what I had earlier subscribed for? why did mtn activate my data plan subscription (night plan) only to suspend it after a few days and turn around to tell me they no longer offer the same plan after collecting 5,000 naira from me?
I am going to write to NCC and make a report and I suggest everyone else who has been treated same way does same too. the impunity and disregard must stop. you can even imagine the rogues sent me a message to subscribe for 750mb for N500 and I just did.....only to be awarded a paltry 150mb! if this isn't financial fraud, then I am at loss as to what it is. I suggest a mass protest against these injustices meted out by mtn to customers to NCC.

I am presently witnessing same. I subscribed for day and night plan, i still have 1.8g left in the night plan. But for few days now, i have not been able to use it. Called their customer care thrice, two were jst saying trash, that i should dial *466*1#. Which i have done severally.

The last one said its a general issue, that very soon the problem will be solved. Tho my remaining mb is still visible. I just want to believe the agent, that very soon" it will be resolved. I hope so or else

their call center agents seem at loss over what to say when you call them so they just look for ways to diplomatically dismiss you asking you that annoying line....'will that be all sir?'

these are the two numbers for which the subscriptions were made: 0903******** and 0806**********

No data subscriber should allow a hopelessly worthless network with inept staff take them for a ride.

Loaded 2500 to subscribe and was given 2500 bonus, subscription of 2000 was done, remaining balance of 500 and bonus was still intact. only for me to browse with the creepy network and mtn took the bonus, called cc and was told that the bonus to make calls is also for browsing. #onlyinnigeria

I also experienced same. had about 2gb left, only to wake up and notice it was gone. I hadn't the time to start listening to jargons from their CC so I just subscribed on my etisalat cos I was at loss to why that happened and I didn't wanna take any risks...just yet

There is nothing mtn will do that will ever make me praise the network because mtn is the most dubious, customer-hostile and annoyingly crafty network in the history of Nigeria. They give you a gift wt the right hand and collect same wt the left. If mtn sells 10GB data for 50 naira, I will still have my reservations. Guyz should monitor how their data is being burnt in this mtn latest 3.5GB for 2k and they might discover they do the same task they did wt the former 2GB for 2k wt it! There are certain processes that zapp ur data which are not discoverable by u going on as u browse. In the midst of these network devils, I think it is better to follow Etisalat b'cos methinks it's own hell won't be too hot!

Guys ooo, i have just checked my data balance oo and I saw my night balance there. It is not wiped. You can confirm by dialing *131*4#.

That was the message I got when I checked.

The same thing happened to my friend and I. We both did the 2500 day and night plan on the 5th of May only to discover our night plan of over 2.5gb each had been wiped off... We called and called, all they kept saying was it will be resolved without any changes... Even if they change their data plans should they wipe the data of those that have subscribed before then... It's not cool 5k gone within just a week.
