Why is this voilence predominamtly in Delta state? Are they the only oil producing state?

All i hear is complainst about under development without asking why the place is underdeveloped.

The only reason states like Cross river are more developed than Delta state is because of mismanagement of funds by its leaders. Compare Ibori and Donald Duke's era.

You guys should address your matter to (1) The ministry of Niger delta (2) The NDDC (3) Your governors that collect 13% derivation. All these interventionist schemes have been in operation since the return of democracy; all operated by Niger deltans and in Niger delta. the people of Niger delta are not telling themselves any truth, yes it's true dat their environment is polluted, it's also a known fact that there land degradation as well as no land for farming but it's a fact that being am oil region there is a special allocation for them different from normal allocation come every month, the NDDC was established basic to cater for some project being an oil state. but now one major reason why the federation is divided into state and each state is govern by an indigine from that particular state so that any resources coming from the federal could be use to cater for the needs of that state since the state is more closer the d most pressing issue of that state now right from the creation of bayelsa state, river state resources has been allocating to them and all the past governors has been stealling and embezzling the resources that is meant to develop the state, we all understand the story of allamaisaya

No one is saying that these problems don't exist in the ND. But the question on the lips of everyone is why the renewed hostilities when they seem to have died down. When GEJ was in power and was awarding security contracts to the tune of billions of Naira to few ND warlords we didn't hear of vandalism. What has really changed in the way ND was being treated under GEJ and now in terms of developmental projects, nothing. The amnesty programme is still running, ministry of ND is still in existence, NDDC still runs, 13percent derivation still exists etc. If anything things have actually changed for the better because programmes and projects that have been abandoned in the past by previous govts including the govt of our brother are now being looked into. Such include clean-up of Ogoni, Lagos-Calabar railway, East-west road and so on. We are quick to blame the FG for neglecting the ND but not quick enough to blame our brothers that head ministry of ND and NDDC year in year for their unpatriotic acts of embezzling the money meant to develop the ND. Even the governors of states in the ND are not left out. They earn more than other states yet have nothing to show for their earnings. They only use their earnings to service the political class. The governor of my beloved Delta state for example has over 500 aides. So let the Niger delta people supping this govt especially as it has shown commitment to develop the ND and avoid being used by a few people to achieve their selfish desires.
