By Roland Ediri Idimi I was talking with a Yoruba friend on December 18, 2015 and it was really a funny discussion. At first he said Roland the Southsouth is not part of Biafra and I responded to him that we are. I had to educate him that we are one indivisible people. That the states strategy today was formulated to divide us and it has not worked. I asked him, “the Governor of my State (Delta State) where is he from?” I could feel how cold he became when he received my response, that my State Governor is an Igbo man and he is called Arthur Okowa Ifeanyi. Governor Okowa was born at Owa-Alero in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State. The next he said was that we would suffer under the Igbos. I had to bring him up to speed, that there would not be any thing like that. The whole states in Biafra are blessed with mineral resources and every state shall be responsible for its land and the resources it contains. Then he said, “the Igbos will fight with us.” My response is, we and the Igbos are one people who are bounded together by same ideology; culture and religious belief and these are the criteria that form the basis for peaceful coexistence. At this point; he realize that I am not one of those the Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba can deceive with their divisive strategy against my Igbo brothers. At least; I asked him one question which he could not answer me. I asked him the following: (a). Why are the Yorubas and Fulani/Hausa fighting really hard to ensure that they create divide between the one people of the Southsouth and Southeast? (b). Could it be that they love the people of the Southsouth so much and wanted them to join Arewa or Oodua? (c). Could it be because they are very interested in their economic; political and sociological development and want to ensure that they are developed when they join Oodua or Arewa? (d). Is it the Igbos who shared the Niger Delta which include Abia and Imo into oil blocks among themselves? (e). Is it the Igbos who fight against true Federalism and Resource Control which we have been clamouring for over the years? (f). Is it the Igbos that shut down all the ports in the SouthSouth (Port Harcourt; Sapele; Koko; Calaber; Warri) for the port in Lagos just to kill the commerce in SouthSouth and SouthEast? (g). Is it the Igbos that fault and kill the PIB proposed with 10% community share? (i). Is it the Igbos that concession Onne Port to Atiku Abubakar to continue the exploit of the people of Rivers State? Till now I am still expecting answer from my friend… Roland Ediri Idimi is a Mechanical Engineer

South-south under Biafra? Hit like if you feel it does not fall under Biafra and share if it does. edited: tauts snatched the ballot box, therefore, with the power bestowed on me as the poll officer I overturn the result. ![]() |

ericuzor:I love your wisdom. The pace which the yorubas(especially) and hausas are using to create disharmony between the south east and south south in recent times is really unprecedented. For those who have no knowledge of history, during the biafra war,one area that saw the heaviest and fiercest battle was calabar and that was because the biafran nation adopted it as its FCT(after the british colony of lagos and calabar). Both nigerian and biafran soliders lost men and materials in trying to conquer and protect it respectively. For those that claim that the biafran struggle was an igbo thing,I asked 'is calabar in igbo land?' For those that believe the igbos will marginalize the rest,I ask 'if so,why wasn't the fct in igbo land?' Biafra or not,I think every south easterner and south south person should be careful when an outsider all of a sudden starts pitching you against your brother and starts professing a strange love for you. |

ericuzor:It makes no sound reading. Rather chickish in level if you don't mind. It takes intellectual discourse to enhance learning which i would rather advise. Again contrary to what you tried to insinuate, to the mainstream yoruba, it would be good riddance of bad stench should the Ibo have their biafra and go home, which they must anyway. |

eyeview:Commonsense, layman's logic - the entire area, including Calabar, were in the eastern region over which Ojukwu was governor and over which he declared seccession. Other minorities had no choice but to go along which they wouldn't have done given a choice. |

lekjons:Ask yourself this question. "Why are you angry that I call someone my brother?" "How is that your headache?" A critical look at yourself b4 answering will show that your problem, your anger and bitterness against the unity of this two tribes is as a result of a jealousy within you. Deal with it |

D truth is that Yorubas see the Igbos as his greatest Rival, They are already praying that Biafra will fail even b4 It is acuallised. They know that if SS SE unite in one front that it will destroy the SW. FIRST d PORT in SS which d SW has done everytyn possible to make sure it doesn't bcme. A reality. They know that a working PORT n SS will bring an end to whatever their dream of LAGOS or dre new found place OGUN. Dat PORT is d LUNG of SW. RECently uhari just commissioned a super highway from CALABAR to North, Reducing the traveling distance to more than 7 hrs . Now an independent BIAFRA and a Working CALABAR PORT means nobody will import anything from LAGOS. I heard they are building more ports. Just imagine a disintegrated Nigeria, a Yoruba MAN will be lost. That's why dey are fightn so hard to keep dis country. Dey say SE wants the OIL in the SS, and I ask is it not d same Oil that u Yorubas with d massive populatin in the not are sucking now? |

idensko:I noticed recently that whenever a south easterner and south southerner exchange even the commonest greetings, yorubas will jump into the thread like a jealous girlfriend to forment every form of disharmony and strife based mostly on their fabricated assumptions. Some claim south east want south south oil,it baffles me cos out of the 5 south east states,3 are oil producing while the other 2 are rich in other mineral deposits(coal, limestone, etc) in quantity that can serve the whole nation. At first,I wasn't interested in any regional agitation but the strength which the yorubas were using to discredit any form of relation caught my attention. |

lekjons:The most useless tribe are those who have been in power fleecing the common wealth of the nation at the detriment of the rest. ...And we both know its not the igbos. So you have now confessed that the reason why you are angry is because you want the oil of the south south people? Chai! You are a typical yoruba blood. Always looking for 'oouda' in a place you didn't work for. Others will work and give you 'oouda' and 'omonile fee' and ground fee. So its the niger delta oil that is fuelling your jealousy? Chai! Niger delta people have suffered. I love igbos for their ability to take their destiny into their own hands, that's why they don't look at the oil or national resources like the rest do. Don't worry son,if both regions would eventually break off, there's nothing you can do about it cos your nairaland rantings will be the rantings of an ant. Face your life son, take your destiny and make something of it and stop acting like a jealous girlfriend, oil or no oil. |

lekjons:all i sense is just hate... Igbos have every right to be proud because there land is so bless igbo land produce more oil than other states enugu and abia jas one of the biggest natural gas reserve in the world still untap.. Someone said here that igbos are leeching on ss because of oil pls look at the map and see what your federal government is not telling you.. The main reason they don't want igbo to go is because of there oil.. .
