Plagiarism is a criminal act of using someone else`s content (writtings, text, quote, speech, statement, assertions, oppinions etc) in your own academic paper or research without duly acknowledging or referencing properly the original author, or worse still, making it look as if it were your own. It is an offense that is purnishable in an educational settings and attracts some penalty if identified with the law.

It hasn`t been much of a big deal in most of our educational institutions here in Nigeria in past times. But not anymore!
