I think I am losing my mind these days and it has got to the point where I am to fear for my health. I'm always lost in thought easily and at times I will come back to life only after hitting the chair , table or just anything around me.




I attended a state polytechnic in the South West region where I studied Business Administration and wrote my last paper in October 2015. I graduated with Upper credit ( but the school is yet to give out our result) . Since then I have been squatting with a family who has been extremely supportive and wonderful.



I have been searching for job since then but not successful and it is killing me seriously.


I have tried getting some skills pending when my HND result will be out but I have been so broke and unable to raise the cash to get skilled in driving , and I can't burdened the family responsible for my feeding and shelter with all that because they have done more than enough and we are all aware of how harsh the economy is now.


I tried raising fund to establish a small business which I believe is viable but the effort is not yielding any fruit yet all because I have no job.



One of the factors I believe is standing against me is my age because I am currently above 30 and its now obvious that employers will rather employ the people that falsified their age than the honest ones.



I am using this medium to appeal to the good here to kindly come to my aid. I urgently need a job between Lagos and Ogun state ( Other states too will be considered as well) . I have faced a lot in my life but this particular one is killing me .

u need to collect your result and apply for NYSC if u are still interested... thereafter u can start talking abt getting a good job.
u cant get good jobs without result...

"With effect from 1st August, 1985, a person shall NOT be called upon to serve in the service corps if, at the date of graduation or obtaining his diploma or other professional qualification" : 1. He is over the age of thirty (30) years 2. He has served in the Armed Forces of the Federation or the Nigeria Police Force for a period of more than nine months; or 3. He is a member of staff of any of the following: a. The Nigerian Security Organization or b. The State Security Service, or c. The National Intelligence Agency or d. The Defence Intelligence Service 4. He has been conferred with any National Honour.

U can stil find some done til ur result is out. I think u can av smtn lik statement of result or of any such dat can testify to anyone dat u are true with your studies. Evn if it's teaching. Dnt look down on urself and thinking wo'nt bring solution.

Thanks Sis, I have been making efforts to get some things doing most especially to get some skills but nothing seems to be working.

I have a friend who graduated in a polytechnic in Lagos. He has since left school, but the school is yet to issue results (a part-time programme).

Do not limit yourself to that paper. Without the result, he's doing very well as a teacher in a private school in Lagos. The last time we talked, I realized he has just completed his payment for a plot of land in Mowe area of Ogun state.

I'm sure he must have forgotten about the school he graduated from.

Do not let your circumstance limit you. Open your mind and say to yourself "I will excel!" Approach any employer of your choice; at least one will give you a job without your result. The pay may not be "fantastic", but it's not always about how much you earn sir.

Learning a skill that will take 3, 4 years is not an option. You've spent about 6 - 7 years already trying to get an HND.

This is the secret: without your HND result, forget about getting a job via jobberman and the likes. You have to do more of walking, & roaming. If you can't do this alone, talk to a colleague in a similar situation and do the roaming together. You only have to prove to them that indeed you schooled, and only awaiting your result.

BTW, your OND (if you have one) should stand for you. In fact, I think there are more openings for OND holders than HND/Degree.

Nothing is too small bro.

it's a Good thing you have a family that supports you. try your hand at farming. either catfish or grasscutter. these are in high demand.

try and raise capital among family members who might help.

approach uncles, cousins etc for LOAN with a promise to pay back.

attend one of these seminars on how to start your own catfish or grass cutter farm or just download the stuff from the internet time save precious funds.

check out those who are already into it within your vicinity and ask for challenges and so on.

start small and grow it.

it pays to be self employed these days. paper certificate is close to useless. those who have masters sef can't get jobs.

in a few years you will be an employer of labor.

Sir, I think you should consider teaching in a private school. After a while, you can decide to back out to pursue other businesses or employment.

Lagos state is the only place you can get decent salaries from private school owners. You're in the right city already.

There are other technical jobs in factories, etc.

Thanks Sir. I actually have strong interest in setting up my own business and I think the fact that its taking too long for me to get a job so I can start saving up capital is part of the reason for this current frustration.

you won't go wrong if you do farming especially animal husbandry. food is a necessity. the market is there always.
