Elhayjay:Yep, I did. If you know a thing or two about procurement, you ll know that is standard practice. She stated you can pay at point of delivery if your pick up point is lagos, but pay before delivery outside lagos. After an insult, no sane fellow of b willing to deal anymore. That how I see it anyway. You don't trust her, then don,t deal not asking for recharge cards and Making youself look petty |

Okay, I think there is a misunderstanding somewhere. For now, i'll follow this post closely. The accused might not have been patient enough, and with the latest screenshots, the accused don't want to send cash not until he sees the product been sold. Which is OK. The only thing we can do now is to wait for the op to cone show us the complete finished product and snapped by herself this time. @Elhayjay Just chill a bit, let her come on today. Because you weren't patient enough initially. If you've ever registered a forex account, you will know calling and persuasion doesn't necessarily mean scam. Those guys can call you 10times a day, but its real. Patiently Waiting though... |

shocker007:Someone has gone as far as busting this guy's scams all the way to Facebook and other platforms and people are still giving him the benefit of doubt. It's only normal for him to keep trying to save face. Here are my finished goods and let me say this clearly Adewunmi contacted me first on my MTN to make enquiries about my product. I called him on GLO line when the insults started to stop him from calling me names (still thinking he was a genuine buyer). I repeat, I do not have any reason to call this boy 10 times like you stated. What's the desperation for? If one customer doesn't buy, others will.

The picture now clears the OP. The truth is Adewumi guy might not be an outright scammer but just an opportunist who wanted to intimidate the lady by threatening to defame her on Nairaland in other to get free recharge card. In as much as its not a full blown scam but that is how it starts. Next, he might ask that products to be sent to him before he pays, and most times they don't. I am an online merchant based in Lagos, only offer POD for customers in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. If u must get my product outside these locations, its either u send someone to come pick up or u pay before I send. |

Elhayjay:Adewunmi, you should stop arguing at this point. If I was Lying against you, the findings made on Facebook about you claiming to be the Rector of a Polytechnic, are those lies too? Like I said on the phone, you wanted to play a smart one on me and it boomeranged in your face. I knew you had a hidden agenda when you called me yesterday morning with a PRIVATE NUMBER, sounding so gentle, different from the person that I spoke with 2 days ago who was hurling insults without a care in the world. You wanted to come back to gloat that you challenged me on the phone, you did not do anything of such, you were sober and gentle. It is a good thing I recorded the conversation. Mods, please I cant seem to post the Phone Record here, keeps giving error message. Can anybody help? |

I believe the thread starter 100% I just hate it when men who should know better try to shut a woman up thru threats and insults. Why would this man call her an Olosho? He asked for pick up address, she gave him, asked for picture, she gave him, no wonder he is asking for recharge card, thinking she is too silly to oblige him. Kobo-kobo thief ![]() |

ladyF:Please read the thread from the beginning. He called on the phone requesting for the product, told him they come in 500ml bottles, finished package will be ready the following day. He said he just needed to see the size of the bottle, which I sent to him. Now I know why he insisted on seeing the size. He needed something something to hold on to so I could fall for his cheap blackmail. As for the text message, I attached it in my Original Post and I will attach it again.

This is just a case of mistrust, impatience and misunderstanding gone wrong. Both of them are right and wrong. The op didn't initially have proof enough to convince the accused that she had the goods she was selling; especially since she expects payment before delivery. Sending empty bottles with strange hands can raise anyone's suspicion. she can be deemed a scammer by the accused by the accused and truly would have wanted to smartly negate that by coming online first. However, coming online first only gives the op a head start, what is nailing the accused is the text message he sent to the op. From the text msg ( if true), the accused isn't a scammer but a blackmailer , they are different. He wanted to (as a sharp guy, as evidenced by his antecedents) get money from the op in exchange for not coming online with a scammer story he has discovered. He may truly feel he has found another online scammer, but asking for money shifts the blame on his head and it will.be difficult to extricate himself from that one. I bumped into this thread from the start and what I felt was the issue then is what I still.maintain, and it's what I've stated here. |

Elhayjay:Hmm.... bros....abi Na gal... You Na d real TIFF! So far, for all the pics posted, na only you demand for payment in d most notorious way - blackmail. She ask u for money in any way before she ll deliver d product? Which TIFF go give her legit address? Which TIFF? ANSA Na! But I sabi plenty tiff wey go threaten unless they are given recharge card. I sabi plenty tiff that are female by day but male by night! Plenty claim to even work for SSS too. Go and hide o, before nemesis go catch you sharply. TIFF. |

Just like u were quickb to calling the op a scammer? Even if u had been a victim of scammers, u did not give her a chance cos ur mind was made up on ur intentions. And the fact that u requested a recharge card stands strongly against u. Elhayjay: |

semitunde:I wonder what is it about the strange hands everybody keeps talking about? It could be any body's hands in my house, moreover the pic was taken at night which accounts for the dark hands. The only mistake I made here was I was too quick to send pictures when the products weren't 100% ready, should have waited till the following day when the products were ready before I sent the pics (which I promised him to do the following day but he insisted on seeing the SIZE). didnt know he had a hidden agenda |
| Re: Adewunmi The Blackmailer by yetseyi(f): 10:59am On May 19, 2016 |
I wonder how persuation to purchase products becomes scamming. What if a male friend of the OP helped to hold the bottle and snapped the pix. She also stated that the finished product will be ready you should have waited for her to upload that. I would also do the payment before sending goods option if I am sending you osogbo and I don't have a payment on delivery service there. What I don't understand is the name calling/ insults. If you suspected she was not real you just move on instead of threatening her because from all these conversations she really has not done anything wrong. |

| Re: Adewunmi The Blackmailer by semitunde: 11:11am On May 19, 2016 |
Tjakes:Yes it truly could be anybody's hands, but that can't stop anyone from drawing suspicion from it. Just like you can draw suspicion from him using his supposed wife's phone and account. He can also say that's not supposed to be a big deal. See the different perspective? The lesson here is not to do anything that would bring up suspicion. You admit that you were impatient in posting the empty bottles, and while I understand this can happen to anyone who wants to sell her goods, it still has brought suspicion whether you like it or not. Things only cleared up after you posted the complete product. If the accused is a blackmailer/scammer, he would need something to hold unto, you gave him that "something". |
| Re: Adewunmi The Blackmailer by Tjakes(op): 11:24am On May 19, 2016 |
semitunde:Trying to promote products before 100% packaging doesn't equate scam, that's impatience. I didn't promise that products are ready for delivery that night, not even the following day. I said Thursday. I didnt ask him for money, I didn't send him my account number. I told him the moment he called to make enquiries about the product that the finished products are not ready yet, if he didn't believe my story he should have just moved on without asking for pictures, he just wanted something as evidence so he could label me a scammer, thereby blackmailing me in the process . |
| Re: Adewunmi The Blackmailer by semitunde: 11:45am On May 19, 2016 |
Tjakes:What I'm blaming you for is that impatience ( and naivety). What you consider as not scam can be considered as scam by someone else, even if they are wrong. The onus is on you ( as the person trying to do business) to remove such suspicion. Point is, you should learn from this going forward. I'm trying not to side any of you guys here. Mr Ade has said he doesn't own the text. As much as I don't believe that, it would be sad if he's telling the truth. But then, we wouldn't be on this thread if he hadn't threatened you an hinged his threat on empty bottles held by "strange" hands. I hope you understand. I'm doing somethings while typing so excuse any typos. |

semitunde:I know you are trying to be 'neutral' bit this doesn't sound neutral at all. I came on Nairaland to warn others from falling into the net of scammers/blackmailers like Adewunmi. If I had anything to 'hide' like you insinuated I wouldn't have been bold enough to come online with chat details and all. And point of correction, I'm not naive, was only impatient. Ok |

All odds point to Mr Adewumi as the scammer/blackmailer, Maybe MTN could be contacted to proof the authenticity of the message in order to prove otherwise. |
