Former NIMASA boss Raymond Omotseye has been sentence to jail
– Omotseye is to serve a jail term of 5-years
– He was jailed for his involvement in a N1.5billion contract scam
Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of a Lagos Federal High Court, today, convicted and sentenced the former Director-General of Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Mr. Raymond Omatseye, to five years imprisonment for contract scam of N1.5bn.
Omatseye was charged before the court by anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on offences bordering on contract splitting and bid rigging to the tune of about N1.5 billion.

This scam is measure in naira. Dasuki scam is in dollars but he still not in jail, this country is a scam.

I think this sentence is a slap on the wrist.
Just 5years for 1.5bn? That's like N300m per year. That's why many people will defraud the nation and wait for the courts
