Police is your friend Campaign organization shall be meeting with the Lagos state Commissioner of Police soonest. If you have any grievances/complains against the police, please, put it forward now so we put it all together in the meeting, and also, let's bring forth our expectations from the Nigerian Police.

We can't deny the fact that Policemen are doing incredible jobs towards the safety of our lives and properties, even though we have some bad eggs among them, which is not only in the police, It's everywhere.

In solving a problem, identifying it is key, since we've identified this problem, what has the society done to solve it? Police is your friend is an irony when talking of the relationship between the citizens and the policemen, and that's the barrier this campaign is set to break.

We hope to build a Nigeria, where "Police is your friend" will be a reality, and not an assumption, where a police man will stop your vehicle, not because they wanted your money but because they want to perform their duty, a Nigeria where a law abiding citizen will park at a check point to give officers cold bottles of water in appreciation of their standing under the sun to ensure we are safe, a Nigeria where the children of police officers will enjoy free education irrespective of the school they attend, a Nigeria where officers will not mind dying for citizens knowing his family is safe behind him, a loving and peaceful country for all.

You are very right Sheau with all you've said, the reason we've brought this forward is because we seek a way forward. We've all been complaining but not doing anything a about. What's the way forward?

well since government has successfully diversified our economy to agriculture what if govt covert them to hunter to watch the farm? instead of killing Nigerians because of 20#?

Your suggestion is not realistic! Are the police that worst? Even if they are, the purpose of this post is to suggest credible solutions. We can't be dwelling on the problem and expect a solution. Imagine the Commissioner of police now ask what's our suggestion for the way forward, is that what you will suggest? Please, let's be practical here, we all know many of these police are pain in the neck, hence the call for this post to suggest way forward.

Wait, lemme add mine. A Police that would connive with armed robbers by renting them their AK-47 rifles to rob & kill the citizens is not my friend.

A Police that would parade innocent citizens as criminals in order to impress their useless & despicable IG is never my friend.

A Police that would come to harass me at the beer parlour instead of going after the known criminals who usually smoke their marijuana under all the bridges in Lagos will never be my friend.

A Police that would conspire to incriminate a citizen on a false charge can never be my friend.

Lastly, any friend of mine who dares join that cursed profession especially in Nigeria will cease being my friend from the day he purchases their useless application form.
