No need for downloading except if you have enough data, just go and buy softwares..

Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010

Mavis Beacon for typing

You cam to install Webcam

Kerpesky Antivirus (the original is #8k above)
Or buy AVG /Avast #200

Mega suit 12 (it contains all other softwares like browsers, games, Antivirus etc)

If you love to design, get photoshop, corel draw etc

It really depends on what you want to use the laptop for, have listed some of the important softwares.
