One thing is for sure, the battle for the top will continue as great presenters keep poping out everyday. Here is a list of top earning TV personalities of 2015 by Forbes and Howard Stern gets to take one more bow as America’s Highest-Paid TV Personality.


Stern

According to Forbes, Stern earned $95 million between June 2014 and June 2015, with some $80 million of that coming from Sirius XM satellite radio, where his lucrative five-year contract is set to expire this month. It’s unclear yet whether he’ll re-up – speculation has circulated that he’s considering an online streaming platform like Netflix NFLX -1.07% or Apple AAPL -0.39% Music. Stern qualifies for our list due to a gig he definitely is giving up: he signed off this September as co-host of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, which earned him $12 million a year, by Forbes’ estimation. That means he could be off our list next year unless he finds another perch on the small screen.


Ellen DeGeneres

Ranking second on our list is Ellen DeGeneres, who has a knack for more than just scaring celebrities on her eponymous show.

She banked $75 million in the 12 months to June from her hosting duties and other ventures including “ellentube,” a service that allows viewers to stream clips of her show. She also launched a clothing line this year and her Heads Up! smartphone game was the best-selling paid app of 2014.

In addition to DeGeneres,Dr. Phil McGraw and Kim Kardashian also launched apps during our earnings period.

Dr. McGraw

McGraw helped create Doctors on Demand with his son Jay McGraw and cofounder Adam Jackson. The program connects users with a network of psychologists in the U.S. for 25- or 50-minute sessions. McGraw and his partners raised $24 million from the likes of investor Richard Branson and venture firm Andreessen Horowitz.

“I’ve always said you need to star in your own life because if you don’t nobody will,” McGraw told Forbes in 2013. “And I don’t mean that in some cliché way, but think about it: there’s only one of you.”

McGraw’s app didn’t massively increase his income this year, but the host still made $70 million from his long-running talk show and the release of his 13th book, The 20/20 Diet: Turn Your Weight Loss Vision Into Reality. He takes the third spot on the list.


Kim Kardashian:

Hollywood allows players to create their own wannabe celebrity and has over 477,000 downloads, according to Fortune. The selfie-obsessed star made $52.5 million between June 2014 and June 2015, a nearly $25 million increase from the period before, ranking her sixth on the list.

But most of the personalities on our list made it based solely on their work on the small screen,

Judy Sheindlin

like No. 7 Judy Sheindlin, who earned $47 million between 2014 and 2015 dispensing justice on her show Judge Judy. The 73-year-old star has an average of about 10 million viewers a day.

Matt Lauer, one of the hosts of NBC’s The Today Show, has survived multiple co-anchor changes and still sits near the top when it comes to salaries.

He made $25 million during our reporting period and holds the No. 10 spot on our list.

“He’s really the best known, the alpha dog in terms of the morning,” said Dade Hayes, editor of the television industry trade magazine Broadcasting & Cable. “He’s weathered a lot of changes.”
