The way some Nigerians lie these days is simply amazing. Petrol is being sold above 145 outside most capital cities and this is where the masses reside.

There is this filling station in alimosho that sold fuel at 115 naira last week, but the queue was too much. Don't know if they still maintain the price till date. But I strongly believe in a competitive business. Same things brought telecommunications to where its today. Iremember the days of mtn Sim at 70k back then, but wen econet came, the price got slashed to 22k till date Sim cards r free (not saying price of petrol will be free, but it will be maintain at the gaining level)

I love the partial deregulation, it's spot on at the right time. Kudos pmb

Aggrieved Nigerians should exercise patience, let's give this administration some time to correct some errors in the past
The bolded is not true. The first phones from all networks came at N40,000 complete with the SIMs. Then MTN SIM came down as low as N6,500, then rose to N9,900, and then hit a peak of N40,000 for a SIM card when NCC asked them to stop producing new SIM cards until their networks were expanded. This was in 2003. By then ECONET which launched the same time as MTN was already in a dying state, waiting to be sold off. So I do not know how you came by the bolded information. It was only the entrance of Glo into the market MUCH LATER than MTN that forced per second billing, and from there call tariffs started to reduce.

It took years to build the necessary backbones to support the expanding GSM networks and for tariffs to start dropping. It also takes years to build a refinery and put it onstream. So Nigerians should not expect to pay lesser for PMS anytime soon.

don't be dumb..in comparing oil with telecom..
telecom is a fixed investment with almost certain over head after initial capital layout.
crude oil prices fluctuate and so as price of crude increases, the PM's imported price will also ...to add to that is forex ..the only re despite is when Dangote refinery kicks off but may not change much if by then price of crude has gone to 60$ and above
domestic refineries is only way we can reduce price of PMS....

If there is any petrol station selling below N145, it is simply because they bought their current stock when the pump price was still N87 so bringing it down now is because they want to exhaust the current stock. So whether they sell at N110, they still gain
