etebefia:Too late bro, we warned you but you called us wailers. Yes, I agree that corruption was high during GEJ's tenure but was nothing close to the heist that happened during OBJ's tenure yet both regimes recorded significant growth of the economy, simply because they had very good economic team that knew how to steer us on the part of growth! Corruption should not be fought at the expense of the economy, Buhari has no business in Aso rock, maybe he could have done better as the EFCC chairman. Nigeria will implode before he Buhari completes 4 years!! 3 Likes 2 Shares |

kernel501: Only a foool would think this began with Buhari. This has been gathering momentum since independence. You can't depend on one source of income for half a century and worse still, spend the proceeds like drunken sailors and not expect this to happen. Not to mention the incredibly corrupt mentality it's citizens have. If you want to know who is to blame, just stand in front of a mirror. Bad citizens, bad country. Good citizens, good country. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

oduastates: I love your unbiased analysis...... It's good to know people like you still exist in this country....... It shows there's a ray of hope for this nation....... A lot of people think disintegration of this country is the permanent solution..... They are in for a shock...... The answer lies in your very last statement......a change in the mind set of our people...... As a people, we should know that development n prosperity cannot be imported neither can they be bought with money...... U also cannot buy nor borrow your way into prosperity. It's also not what one single leader can bring about with a magic wand. Prosperity n development are cultures that people identify n relates with, with a mindset to make it a way of life. Unfortunately, these things seem alien to us n that's why West African nations are yet to attain any meaningful or sustainable prosperity index. If we are waiting for foreigners to develop our nation.......I'm sorry, but we're on a long thing. 5 Likes 1 Share |

santity100:You are the gullible one here. Are you just acting out of ignorance or just trying to earn your "pay per post" stipend? For Gods sake, everyone, from economists, international & local analyists, proffessors & even laymen in the streets knows that all is not well with Nigeria & the noose seems to be getting tighter with each passing day yet you are here vituperating gibberish! Do you have conscience at all? Or is it when you start seeing Nigerians with bowls begging for alms all over West Africa that you will understand? I know the number of people that have come to me for financial assistance in the past week alone even when I'm trying to break even on my own! If things continue this way or gets worse, then we are doomed!! 3 Likes |

I am not a fan of PMB but he is not to be blame on what is happening to the situations we are experiencing at the moment . However, what do you call a person that never learn from it's past mistakes? PMB has never and will never learn from his past mistakes that lead to overthrown by IBB. The brain behind the policy of war against indiscipline was Babatunde "Tunde" Abdulbaki Idiagbon idea. In fact Tunde was the one fighting corruption ( which PMB is riding on that made him to win the 2015 election). He was the one pulling the strings and not PMB. He was overthrown on the absence of Tunde. Why? Because PMB has no clue on how to run a Government or know what to do. Fact! PMB was not the brain behind the coup that lead him to power. Fact! He was asked to take control and be the military president simply because he of his rink. Fact! So to think such a person would change the situation of Nigeria for better baffles me. PMB is a bitter man that wanted to come back to power by any means necessary. He felt robbed by IBB. Fact! Back to the issues. The only way the black race and Nigerians can change things and turns its economy around is to figure the root of the problem until then nothing will change. We have to start changing our mindset, believing in ourselves and our products, taking responsibility of our actions without casting the blame on someone else or some old person in the village, believing in our culture and traditions and most importantly ignoring the religion brought to us by the Europeans and the Arabs for their selfish interest. It has done us more harm than good. It has made us lazy and less productive. Until we do these things we will always be at the bottom of the ladder. 1 Like |

swing4real:I remove cap for you, let me add this to your already beautifully written expose`. He rode on the collective short memories of the Nigerian populace to power and the youth who didn't know that PMB almost crippled the economy in 1984 in the guise of fighting corruption, can't Nigerians see how Donald Trump is making waves, this is due to his success in business. Why can't Nigerians look at Donald Duke to lead them, we need visionaries not desperados. 1 Like |

banmee: Bad governmental system breeds bad government. Our irresponsible system tempts and spoils good people. Good leader can make people Good for awhile, while it last. Good system monitors fiduciary goodness for all time. Our unitary, centralised national cake system is a recipe for failure. Time to change the system that have been failing us since inception ( 1966). Strong structural foundations sustains enduring nations for all time. Don't blame the people, blame the system that turns good people bad. 1 Like |

banmee: We are all objects of our environment. People are all born or created good. Circumstances of societies mould us to various character states of mind. A governmental foundation that put all its eggs in one basket is prone to disasters. A unitary system that put all its cake in centralised bowl can only benefits those with big and long spoons (politicians). While others wait in vain for crumbs that never trickles down. Decentralisation puts the cake in more smaller bowls. Where transparency, accountability and security guardian of the resources are more efficient. Corruptions or stealing from a smaller bowls will be less in magnitude and noticeable than from the centralised big bowl system. |

rexzqcom: Take a cue from the American revolution. These were people who lived in a colony and banded together to become a nation. They were inherently good people and because of that, they created a great country out of nothing. They also created their own system of government. When good people gather together you eventually come up with something good. Same for bad people. What Nigeria needs right now is not a new system of Government, but a reset button. The way it is at the moment, nothing will ever change. In fact it will get worse. The mindset of the average Nigerian is so jacked up that generations to come are already programmed a certain phucked up way. 2 Likes 1 Share |
