I have been on Man Utd thread for some time asking what the expectation on Mourinho are

They are now telling me Mourinho has nothing to prove

This time there is no excuse of different league, One league is easier or more difficult to win - Both are in the same league

This time no excuse of different city that some players prefer one city over the other or weather - Both are in the same city

This time no excuse of no money One coach had money to spend one doesnt have- Both are going to rich clubs

Both are going to clubs who are bad at the moment and both need a rebuild, both clubs finished level on points and won 1 domestic trophy

So both are expected to win every trophy next season or failure whoever doesnt win failed

I thought I have been reading how desperate Man U are in getting back to the good winning days, how come the man paid to fix the problem has nothing to prove again? Does that mean they will settle for whatever he brings to the table?

It's no news that Manure have been looking for a fix on how the team has been since the departure of SAF. Funny enough, a legendary club like ManU that are well respected because of how they run the club are now desperate. Of course Mourinho's appointment is one borne outta desperation. They were looking to build, but at this juncture, they don't care about that but about the couple of trophies that would be added to the Old Trafford cabinet.

Anywayz, like you said, there is no excuse whatsoever on why any of the aforementioned duo would fail. And, who they decide to buy is no one's business because of course they should be obliged to buy what the team needs. So for those thinking that they would have to see the signings first before agreeing to the contest, una don fail. Have we forgotten buying of players (using very good scouts, as well as working with the TD) is one of the areas a coach can be successful (Simeone comes to mind)?

Good thing is that both will have the power to interfere with signings to a certain degree, so there will be no excuse of Coach A was allowed his desired signings blah blah blah as against Coach B who wasn't allowed.

It would be very interesting I must say. And at this juncture, no one is better. We will have to see who is better henceforth. The next 3 seasons would be very interesting to say the least. At the end of the duration of time they are together, pending when anyone of them leaves, we would judge them with the number of trophies won. I guess that would be the ultimate test.

I think I have always judge Pep fairly. I don't see him as a rainmaker. so I don't expect him to fix city in one season same for Jose with us.

Athletico Madrid should ensure to go for broke today and try not stretch the game into extra time - and also strive to be clinical as possible whenever they find themselves anywhere around Real's 18 yard box.

Even if Ronaldo is fielded today he isn't 100% fit since he pulled a muscle on Tuesday during the club's training session.

Athletico should wield that to their advantage.
And just as Buffon said: Atheletico deserve to win UCL more than Real deserves to.

I wholly share that sentiment, after all Real only made it to the finals because they were pit against run-of-the-mill teams.

I hardly believe they would have made it this far if they had been made to walk through fire and brimstones in the follow-up matches after the group stage.

Tell me what team(s) Real Madrid defeated that is currently better than Barcelona or Bayern Müchen?.
Do that then we can talk.
