For those blaming Buhari, maybe you don't know the efforts govt has made so far to negotiate with these guys. A group was invited and after negotiations and agreement, NNPC trunk lines was bombed and NDA stated boldly that the want secession.
All these ijaw groups asking for negotiations just wants to make some money out of the whole situation.
These guys don't want anything other than to disrupt govt, disrupt the EFCC cases against them. They had already stockpiled arms during the boko haram arm scandal. Their chief sponsor is already claiming to be on exile. He fortified them prior to election and they are already acting out the scripts.

Weeping endureth for a while, but joy sure cometh in the morning. NDA, we will defeat you. You can take that to the bank.

And whereas the effects of Bharam terror could be sectional,the devastating effects of Niger Delta terror is national.

Jonathan was not voted for in some states of the north in 2011 but he didn't go about classifying Nigerians into enemies and friends.

More importantly. GEJ's supporters didn't go about ridiculing those who didn't vote for him.
A little show of magnanimity in victory is expected of a true leader.

A little diplomacy using backdoor channels would have averted this debacle that has engulfed the Niger Delta. Talk tough as a president but more importantly, use those channels and without a single boot on the ground you get yourself a win-win situation.

Buhari left it too late and at best, what he gets is a pyrrhic victory.

By the time the people start collecting less than 30% of their salaries i.e. the person earning N18,000 being paid N6,000, you won't need the military to chase out any militant, the people will do it by themselves.

As it is now, State governments get roughly 20% if not less, of what they were getting in 2014.
