After the North East, the South South is the most volatile region in Nigeria. In few weeks time, I expect the British and American Embassy Nigeria to issue a travel warning to their citizens against going to Rivers and Delta state respectively.

The Yoruba West is still a haven for FDI's, the most peaceful, accomodating, hospitable, tranquil and business/investors friendly region in Nigeria and it shall forever remain so till the country eventually goes belly-up.

If you are a prospective foreign or local investor and you are reading this comment, please come situate your business concern in the Yoruba-west viz: Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti. Your ROI(Return on Investment) is assured.

You people are hypocrites. Buhari had said he wants to dialogue with them. A meeting of all the ND elders had been called. Many people have been lending their voices. So you want to pretend you didn’t hear all the attempt of the FG at dialogue? Did this NDA come to the table ?
But they kept on blowing pipelines and ambushing the army cos the army must play by the rules of engagement.
How does the FG dialogue again with them? Does Buhari have a power to give them autonomy?
If the army enter their homes and start killing them too now, you'll say they're killing innocent people. Are these not innocent soldiers?

I feel 4 the Nigerian army for their loss and the family of the solders, I feel for the innocent Biafra protesters that was killed by the army, I feel so sorry for the hundreds of people that was killed by Fulani headsmen at Nimbo in Uzo-Uwani Local govt of Enugu state. I sympathies with my fellow Nigerians for the Untold hardship on us this period. But I need answers 4 my questions.... Why must someone rearing cow in bush carry AK 47 who gave them such guns. Why must all the oil blocks and oil creacks in ND states be owned by the northerners and very few of the west. Why must all the oil servicing company will be managed by the northerners eg INTELS by Atiku Abubarka. How can Bokoharram keep hostages up 10 956 hw many inmates are in Nigeria prisons. 95% and 5% votes is nolonger a story but a reality in areas of appointments in the present govt. The amalgamation is 100 years old, I think this marriage has come to the end point. It is nolonger SE / SS but the Eastern region the need freedom.

know doubt Lagos has been accommodating and peaceful. the fluid nature of the average Yoruba person makes it easier to relate despite the general stereotype of "a potential snitch". They hardly have a strong stance and usually leave the discussion open.

it is debatable if Lagos would have been as accommodating if they had oil and had their resources plundered with little or no development as seen in Niger delta. But the response is not a direct one as they may have handled it a bit differently- by talking, shouting, threatening yet negotiating and pleading for help. But again, Lagos has financial and commercial viable resources and yet they have been accommodating. Although many may assert that Lagos was developed with the collective wealth of all specially from the Niger delta but that have not made the largely Yoruba indigenes hostile to non locals. the east is not hostile other the place near the Niger delta. they are very welcoming.

However, any part of this country if exposed to sustained deprivation as seen in the delta is prone to experience what is going on the delta. The ijaw man, kalabari and Okirika man is really not a troublesome person. I wonder when all these changed.

Are you not the hypocrite here? Buhari is pretending to want to dialogue but on the hand sending all the military to the niger delta with Buratai threatening fire and brimstone. He has already declared war, with 100 gunboats,4 warships, bomber jets, surveillance aircrafts and other military equipments,he is ready to level niger delta, but the die is cast. Let's know who will blink first. The boys have declared their readiness to defend their territory against the fulani invaders masquerading as Nigerian Army. Anyway, they have given their conditions for any meaningful dialogue, if Buhari likes, let him accept their conditions if he likes let him reject it. FACT, conditions for peace becomes more complicated by the day.

Buhari has done it again. Who didn't see this coming after Buhari won the elections and Hausa people were jubilating up and down? Buhari has suceeded in ruining the economy, progress, unity and security of this country.
Congrats Buhari.
Regrettably, it turned out that Buhari was too rigid and uncompromising in his attitudes to issues of national significance. Efforts to make him understand that a diverse polity like Nigeria required recognition and appreciation of differences in both cultural and individual perceptions, only served to aggravate these attitudes. - Babangida

There are times when after close observation of things happening that I can't help recalling something Chinua Achebe said in his book There was a Country. He said "... that Nigerians will probably achieve consensus on no other matter than their common resentment of the Igbo." You couldn't put it more clearly.
The whole place is filled with reports of the protest and subsequent killing and arrest of some MASSOB /IPOB members. Not for the first time. Now, whether it was an entirely peaceful protest and if the security forces acted solely in self defence is another argument.
But what I find most nauseating is the swift response to kill and arrest them. In minutes, blood is shed, arrests are made and there is an quick outpouring of security agents to protect some contraption called Nigeria and her supposed peace and unity. But herdsmen have raided towns and villages killing and destroying without restraint and the security forces are yet to 'outpour' or make clear arrests. It is in our land and against our people that they invoke Rules of Engagement, whatever that means. They can't even clear out BH or face the Nigeria Delta Avengers. They couldn't even produce Tompolo in court!
In case you didn't read that too, the arrested IPOB members were already arraigned in an Enugu North magistrate court today, barely 24 hours after the arrests. They are suddenly so effective at combating crime. But next Fulani spree, they will release a statement and say the perpetrators are from Niger and Kuala Lumpur or wherever. If you don't smell anything, then you need help.
The arrested ipod touts will die in jail. You will join achebe if you go out and join a useless protest just because you don't like the president. I just hate the way you cowards hide behind your phones and laptops to brag about the things you cannot do. You want to stay alive but encourage your illiterate brothers to go out, protest and get killed like chickens. Chukwu okike alabama will save you.

Atleast they are nt after the lives of innocent citizens, unlike Boko haram.
This was exactly how boko haram started. Their targets then were policemen and some ignorant fools like you cheered them until they resorted to blowing up churches and then they moved on to mosques, muslims, christians alike and even livestock. Today, the north east is a war zone with families living in refugee camps? Keep basking in the euphoria of your stupidity. I just hope the impending carnage does not consume you or yours.
