Information reaching our news desk indicates that there is tension and trepidation as riots has erupted in Ilaro in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State.

As gathered by this medium, according to an eyewitness report, the crisis started when Police Officer allegedly shoot on a Commercial Motorcyclist popularly known as Okada in many parts of the country for refusing to pay bribe.

As gathered unconfirmed report shows that there dead bodies, as the Police has continued to shoot sporadically.

However, when www.metronaija.com called the Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Adejobi Olumuyiwa Oladunmoye for clarification on the matter he stated that he can’t say anything now, as he is heading to Ilaro to ascertain the situation, thereby requesting this medium to call him back by the time he gets the true picture of what transpired.

The First Nigerian Government that I will know is serious is the one that puts a proper spotlight on the Nigerian Police..


First of all, disarm ALL Police officers of these AK-47's and FAL rifles and replace them with 9mm Beretta and Smith & Wesson Pistols.

Then a reassessment exercise which should have a psychological examination attached should be dome on ALL Police officers.

Then the remaining ones should be re-trained in batches until ALL service officers have been fully retrained.

This shiit cant continue any longer.

The Police force needs to introduce tasers/stun guns in lieu of the AK47 asssault rifles. . . It's not meant for everyday policing. Solomon Aranse and his subordinates need to be more innovative. . . this is nonsense!

They should test these officers for drugs like Cannabis (Marijuana) and Cocaine regularly. In some Lagos locations, you'll see how policemen often smoke marijuana with street boys, is that someone to trust with human lives or guns? That was how a Policewoman killed a man last week in Igando, Lagos.

All I see is innocent blood everywhere. . . If things continue like this, this country is headed for the rocks.
