I love these goons, i respect them a lot, but why must they cross their boundary, why?? ...hmmm another jamb madness o.. Scrapping post utme Beautiful people, do you think Unilag will adhere to this rubbish. Following the decisions arrived at the just concluded 2016 JAMB Combined Policy Meeting on Admissions to Universities, Polytechnics and other higher institutions in Nigeria, the 2016 official cut-off mark has been pegged at 180 for Universities, Polytechnic and Colleges of Education. This implies that no higher institution; universities, polytechnics, colleges of education or certificate awarding institutions recognized by JAMB will go below 180. However, they can choose to go above the benchmark of 180. Similarly, the decision to scrap post-UTME was taken. This means that institutions will no longer conduct Post-UTME screenings. According to the minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, there is confidence in what JAMB is doing and hence no need to conduct another examination for candidates seeking admission into higher institutions. He further stated that universities that have complaints against JAMB should bring it forward for address. However, the minister directed JAMB to stop demanding extra charges on other services rendered by the board to candidates which include change of course/institution. Here are the words of the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde after the meeting, “180 is given, no institution will go below 180 this year, And some universities can go above it, I know University of Ife will not go below 200 and University of Lagos will not go below 200 and also UI. All these ones stand but 180 as bench mark for others. “This year we have more than enough candidates, we have over 1.5 million candidates so we will get enough candidates to take in all the schools if they are serious. Re-distribution is already ongoing, because it is embedded in the registration procedure.” |

~~ Yea, its a welcome development to the detriment of our tertiary institutions cos the extortions is now thwarted! So apart from fed/state funds to these institutions, they are now left with no option to admit more candidates to cushion the effect of insufficiency of monies this assent is about to expose them to. Taking into cognizance the low scores that befuddled percentage of candidates this year, I say this is a favour to some extent. |

Melancholy:What extortions actually? Universities now have more avenue to make millions of Naira as none would be ready to make cutoff marks available. Admissions will now go to the highest bidders. So apart from fed/state funds to these institutions, they are now left with no option to admit more candidates to cushion the effect of insufficiency of monies this assent is about to expose them to.Admit more students? Universities can never admit more than their quota in professional courses lest they loose accreditation. It's also to detriment of our educational system taking cue to your post as mass unemployable graduates would be churn out when Universities admit more than available resources. Taking into cognizance the low scores that befuddled percentage of candidates this year, I say this is a favour to some extent.With this your post, I take it that you are of notion that universities should admit jamb mediocrity. Quite ludicrous for someone hiding under facade of big vocabularies. |

I think Jamb should be scrapped instead Even if universities are exorting from candidates, @ least its going to the school pocket, there is probability the money would be used to enhance the school But jamb, what will they enhance This is hw I prefer it Do waec, meet the requirements for your course Then schools should prepare entrance examinations for students- either making the exam based on course or general, its the school choice After the exam, release cutoff marks for students based on their course And make una no 4gt, dnt stop jacking, FG might cancel diz stuff |

Melancholy:Guessing 40questions? There is no way guessing can score one more than 10marks. If jamb is a test of knowledge, what stopped your so-called intelligentsia's from coming out tops in p.utme? Anyway, I have cousins that got into University before post jamb started and trust me, there was no merit when one chose Unilag at first attempt. The second one runsed his admission and finally got English Edu instead of Law. I am sure that was an era that gave people notion that Unilag admission is never based on merit till today when actually things changed when post utme was introduced. |

Jamb examination questions are standard questions. The pblm with jamb has always been credibility. Even with this CBT I know of someone who am sure cannot score up to 150 who got 256 in jamb. Its exam malpractice that gave birth to post jamb. Schools are mandated not to collect more than 2k but skul will always find a legal way to collect more than that. They can ask u to buy card to check ur result or you pay for their online practice test Done with exam. where is mheesa o |

FrancisTony: Unilag 40 questions are standard questions no doubt about that No system is perfect, same goes to unilag putme. In some skuls mathematics isn't required for courses in law, FAC of art, some edu and social science courses. UI comes to mind and maybe oau. This is because mathematics isn't really important for those courses. Even as part of jamb combo, some science courses esp Medical related courses compulsorily do not require mathematics.. That is why some don't do well in putme it's not because they are dull and don't forget unilag does not set basic maths in its putme It would have been better if they set konk maths for the engineering student and basic maths for non science student, but subjecting Philosophy candidate and engineering candidate to the same level of maths is wickedness. Both unilag and jamb questions are standard. jamb has credibility pblm, unilag is wicked to non science student. .Goodnight |

No take dem serious o before they usually say 180 minimum for all skul but this year they talk say 180 minimum but UI, OAU and Unilag can use 200. Don't take Fg serious o and remember APC and lies are 5 and 6. where is mheesa o. Zaragal no gree post English questions, ron9ja dey honeymoon. |
