Gov.wike Takes Another N10billion Loan by suasmablow(op):
Barely two weeks after securing N10Billion loan to sponsor the botched National Convention of the PDP in Portharcourt, the Rivers State Capital, the state Governor, Barr.Nyesom Wike has been reported to have taken another N10Billion loan granted by his boys in the state house of assembly.
This will make it N20billion in less than three weeks.
The reason for this latest loan isn't clear. However feelers from political spheres in portharcourt has it that the Governor is using the recently flagged-off Saakpenwa/Bori Road project as the new excuse.
It may interest you to know that only N100million is said to have been budgeted for the over 15km road in the secret 2016 budget of the Rivers State.
Those who are familiar with Rivers Politics should please help us calculate how much worth of loans that the Governor has taken in less that 13months in office.
Imagine what the debt profile of Rivers State must have been by the end this administration in 2019

Their hero. Just like the IB.

How can anyone justify over N40bn under a year. And this is despite the N100bn left behind by Amaechi.

Wike is wicked indeed.

I'm not a fan of Wike or any politician but anyone in PH or Rivers can attest to the fact that Wike is making us of the loan. Nothing is wrong in taking loans for capital projects. And his achievement in road project is impressive. However, I have little issue with the quality of the road especially the open cutter system couple with our maintanance culture. The quality of the road is low especially when compared with Ameachi. But it's understandable, the state revenue has drop drastically. He should improve the quality of the roads.

In summary, the guy is trying and nothing is wrong with borrowing for capital projects

Had PH changed? Please i am still waiting to see a new thing been done by this govt with over 50b loan he had collected already, apart from re-coating of roads.

I'm not and I will never justify whether the projects do far justified the loan he had taken so far. And I will dispute your aguement but in this few months he has tried. He has been able to finish most of the road that Ameachi started and he has been able to initial few and completed it( Woji road, Rumuorolu ets) though as said earlier im not so impress with the quality

Let him take more and more, this is what the Rivers people like. The rains have not started and the roads are already oh so bad. Is it Rumuekini - Aluu - Omagwa, Obiri - Ikwerre interchange to Airport, Rupokwu - Aluu - Uniport.

Let him borrow more and more, he needs to start his own 5k monthly salary for the boys.

99% of our governors do not know how to generate wealth on their own. So they drag their states in debt

I smell corruption. Smfh!!!!

Nigerian politicians arrested the most incompetent, disgusting beings ice ever seen in my life. No wonder they all want "one nigeria" to continue. Each and everyone of them are the same so who will support getting off a gravy boat.

That's why I like that hausa politician that recently asked for referendum and ike Ekeremadu....the only two politcians in that shithole with dignity.

The good people of Rivers State should go to Osun State Civil servants on the effect of loans repayments on their salaries.

Is that how other governors develop their states?
Borrowing atleast N8.5billion every week?
Do you know how many capital projects over a N100billion could have gotten for Rivers State?
compare the few roads he has repaired with the amount he has borrowed outside the Federal allocation and IGR of over N9billion every month, then u will understand my position better

Even the pensioners are still crying despite using them as excuse for borrowing over N20billion.
Rivers State is really in a big mess all round.
Meanwhile Rivers people continue to be Massacred and so many have been rendered homeless because of insecurity, yet the WIKE is obviously never bordered.
Extremely sad

I live in Woji estate as well. True be told, can you compare Woji to old Aba road now to as it was before. To move move from Estate to Odili do take me up to 2hours before but now it takes less than 30mins either ways. Read my previous post, I'm not a fan of Wike and i do have my reservation regarding the quality of the road. And if you are in town you will notice they have started another layer from Alcon gate.

I don't know either you have been at Rumuolu or Rukpuku- Aneka link road before this administration, if yes you will admit that the guy is trying. However, it may not be commensurable with the loan he has taken so far
