I am trying to be tribalistic but it is a bitter truth. Why can't we allow ibos to go for her independent, this tribe has been given Nigerians headache since 1930. I have said it severally ibos are the masquerade behind this evils called niger deltas Avengers. Since I was born I have never seen where neither yoruba nor Hausa settling down in another tribe claiming ndigbo, ibos are in every where even in my village they are all venturing in various businesses. We got nothing to lose as a nation only if we could just allow this heavy anchor to launched down the oceans. |

Oba Akiolu NEVER threaten to drown the Igbos in the Lagoon...In the Lagos of Old, it was the mythical belief that those who worked against interest of the throne will not survive crossing the Lagoon because there was no bridge at that time and most people had to cross the lagoon by canoes. Many people perished during such dangerous journeys (whether they are enemies or friends of the King) but sympathisers of the Lagos royalty attributed this to supernatural powers fighting the enemies of the King. This is the background of that belief that 'Those who work against the throne, perish in the Lagoon' I strongly condemn the Oba's statement. A modern day Oba should not believe in such crap, let alone utter it out where it will be misunderstood and quoted out of context. Uduak2019: |
