A 26yr Old With Heart Disease, Needs Advice by Nobody: 12:18pm On Jun 06, 2016
Please I need your opinion on this issue. I'm a 26 year old diagnosed with angina/ischaemic heart disease two years ago. This has made me bad candidate for normal employment, as most times when I'm employed I wouldn't be able to cope with the stress. I started running another degree last year at National open university because I needed the knowledge personally. Now, I'm thinking of running another full degree (Nursing), as my first degree was in Anatomy. Do you think with my heart condition I can run both the NOUN and Nursing degrees simoltaneously? If not, what's your advice?
Please sincere answers and no insults. I'm an intelligent lady full of ambition, yet my health seems to restrict me. I just need advice of well meaning Nigerians on what you feel I should do. Thank you.

First of all, lemme commend ur bravery and ur quest for more knowledge.
Then I need to ask, regardless of ur diagnosis, would u hv bn able to combine the two programs? Are they both full tym? Then again, I presume u re closely being monitored by a specialist. I personally think u ll b able to do it, that is if the timing doesn't crash. It may take longer tym tho, BT u can. Alternatively, u can finish d one u started last yr then commence d nursing subsequently. best wishes

Thank you so much for your response. Normally, I would have been able to combine the two programs easily. One is part-time while the other is full time. I was just a bit scared because of my condition. Your response gives me hope.

beautiful to hear about a young lady's ambition for knowledge.............to start with , i pray your angina is stable angina(angina with regular pattern) and as such schedule your studies to fit into the pattern and avoid triggering factors, but honestly dear i would love to advice you to finish up one course at a time(Even people with healthy heart, its stressful to take two courses at once) so as to minimize stress that can complicate your heart condition

NB; you can be whatever you want to be , so don't let your condition slow you down.............just make sure you have a good specialist taking care of you, watch your diet ,stay positive and don forget to tell JESUS about your DREAMS
