The mistake people make before leaving your country is not to prepare for where to sleep. My experience in Mumbai was different, though mine was in 2008. Our school prepared our accommodations, feeding and everything we simply walked into our classes. If you want to study in India, get information from other Nigerians there, we went to ma lam Mohamed kitchen in Mumbai to eat our swallow. Its a pity though for them.

Sometimes I believe the black race is under a divine curse, this are the same Indians that Nigerians treat like honorary whites.

would u blame the Indians, Nigerians and generally some black nations have set a world record of committing bad acts in host countries. Some Nigerians think that other countries are like Nigeria where corruption or corrupt tendencies are viewed as a norm...Pls school quick and run back to your country, and whoever goes there tp seek greener pastures is on his own because even we that are here,Naija cant even take care of us and you expect them to take care of you abroad.

Nigerians, brave, smarter, adapt easily and can manage themselves anywhere they go in the world. Call them anything you like, it will not stop them. I love my people, my country. I'm so proud to be a Nigerian. What other people in the world consider to be a threat, Niger will laugh over it and move on. We are too strong abeg! Very tough. I always says to people that we are the mordern day Israelites. God bless Nigeria.

This is a case Nigeria embassy in India should technically take up. There should be rule of law in every society. These are international students for crying out loud. Why can't I go to any country of my choice to study if I have my resources?

I will strongly recommend that Nigeria embassies all over should be completely overhauled and younger generations be posted as Ambassadors. How can we have old folks representing us as ambassadors when majority of the people in diaspora are younger generations.

These are simply common sense issues. Let the people who will identify with the pains and needs of others serve them. It's high time we started doing the things that matters in Africa. We should be more future focus than just satisfying our immediate needs.

The youths are the hope and the strength of every nation. If we failed to empower our young ones today, there will be no future for Africa.
Nigerian ambassadors are just as corrupt and incompetent as the politicians.

Have been to India few times to do my professional courses. The only reason why I choose India is simply because the courses are cheaper compare to the UK rates. I also opted for the boot camps in that way I can cramp everything in 5 weeks instead of 3 months course in the UK.

I must say you cannot compare India to Nigeria in terms Cleanliness, I know Nigeria is not all that clean, but my people India have got a long way to go, you can see people having poo by the road side a lot of homeless people sleeping on the street, Cows and Monkeys roaming the street and rats in every corner. They drink Cows urine and use Cows dung for tooth polishing

I didn’t witness any discrimination or racism while I was in India apart from when I walk on the street, Indians just stare at me as if they haven’t see a black man before.
Re: Nigeria Students Live With Discrimination In India (photo) by DICKtator: 1:37pm On Jun 06, 2016
Discrimination is everywhere!!!

It is even worse in your own country and more painful than the foreign one

Everyday in Naija is discrimination day.

If you are not from a certain part you are discriminated against, at work, in church/mosque,parties,clubs,bank,school what-have-you

So this is nothing new.

If we're being judged by foreigners cos of the colour of our skin or where we are from,it is somehow understandable

When we learn to love ourselves and we are united, no one can look down on us!!!!

My friend, are you living in denial? Do you mean there is no discrimination in Africa? I find tribalism in Africa to be far worst than racism in the West. Nowadays, most of the racism in the West are subtle whereas tribalism in Africa is still very blatant. There are laws against discrimination in the West.
bro, I'm not living in denial. Where I live I'm not discriminated upon. I'm very much happy with my life here. The stories I hear about the west (and the east, as in this case) with regards discriminations is just too scary.
I'm very much OK here
Thank you.

Even amongst Indians, there Is still a caste system.

Their poverty and unemployment index is worse than ours.

Have you wondered why your Indian employers are stingy and hostile?

Its because they believe you are over paid and pampered. In their country, they will pay an Indian four times less than they are paying you and he will happily take the job.

Why leave Nigeria to study courses like Sociology, Economics and Computer Science when it's not any Medical science course?
Thats why Wike said he wont pay any more scholarship for Rivers State students schooling abroad not studying engineering, sciences or medicine. Business Admin, mass comm, history abroad? Thats seems crazy
Re: Nigeria Students Live With Discrimination In India (photo) by dasparrow: 2:38pm On Jun 06, 2016
@Post

India of all places? Is it a must to school abroad? Even Indians themselves are going to Canada, UK, and USA to study. Indians even treat their own fellow Indians with dark skin like crap. So, I wonder why any right thinking black African will want to go there to study. I just don't get it.
Re: Nigeria Students Live With Discrimination In India (photo) by AAinEqGuinea: 2:39pm On Jun 06, 2016
African Americans are just as foolish as well, they'd rather try and be cooperative with people who hate them, while hating themselves the most. All blacks do this bs and it's absolutely pathetic but I guess it's in our nature, with treachery rooted in our history.

RaptorX:
Sometimes I believe the black race is under a divine curse, this are the same Indians that Nigerians treat like honorary whites.
I'm really starting to believe that this is true (but I'd also include Indians, I'll never run to India).

swezenberg:

Personally, I've never had problems with Indians in America. I'm not surprised by the existence of their closet racist tendencies. Most non-white groups in America jostle for some token minority status, which is required when you've ran to their country I guess. Many Latinos in America hate blacks but love white people and as their population increased they dont mind the idea of white people sticking around as the new minority but they'd love to see blacks leave. Same is true for many Haitians in the Dominic Republic.

But not to worry, all Blacks will turn back to hating each other in the little window of time when we believe racism has died out, I guess we cant really help it... but it is interesting how we're now calling foul against other races for their hate.

This is why I've never fancied staying abroad. I have so much pride I can't just stand the discriminations. No matter how bad naija is I rather stay here. Yes, I'm that prideful.

Come on, bro. Comparing Indians to Koreans is akin to comparing Ikwale kush to bitter leaf. The Koreans are decent people even though they're some racists there.
Re: Nigeria Students Live With Discrimination In India (photo) by surawilly(m): 3:08pm On Jun 06, 2016
before u criticize anyone for going to India to study or choosing a particular course u have to ask the reason why? u stay in naija mocking them like they had other option. even in naija don't we have discrimination? u apply for a sch out of ur region with high grades in jamb they tell u dat u ain't from catchments area and all sort of excuses. To me I have never experience any sorts of discrimination, it's my second year now. the only problem is u hardly get a part time job.
so discrimination is every where even in our country, so don't just sleep on ur mattress and start blabbing rubbish!

Same here, I have been living in the West for more than 25 years. And where I am living, I am not discriminated upon. So, it surprise when I read comments for people like you, who think that life in the West is all about discrimination. There are legislations in the West to fight discrimination. And anyone who feels discriminated can use those channels. I don't think there is such legislation in Africa against tribalism. So, if you haven't experiment tribalism in Africa, it means either you are just a lucky one.
