It's normal, my MIL says it's the tummy that's expanding

Ambient the hiccup is normal and will subside soon! Are you still having pains at your site when breastfeeding? You can try lying down to feed your little one or use a pillow! Medically its actually advised for CS and bustty women to opt for this position, But many claim it causes ear infection in babies which is false.
You however have to be alert if you choose to so as not to suffocate ur baby.

I've not had to deal with this issue, so i don't have any info on it. Please, why not do a search on the forum using the Search bar at the top, (I've seen a lot written about it) and then you can make a decision smiley

For the mothers asking about Dove soap for babies, this is what we use and was recommended for us: Dove Pure and Sensitive. The bar soap is cheaper than the wash. Please check your supermarkets for it, as per availability. In lieu of this, i think maybe Dove classic can work. You can start using it from 3 months, if youee uncomfortable with using it on a newborn (though Dove Pure and Sensitive is fine for younger babies) and don't get soap in their eyes. Please Google for more information about it. HTH

Breastfeeding after ceasearian section is the most painful thing i have ever witness.i just hope it will soon pass cause i cant continue like this.
sorry there. You don't have to bf lo in the usual cradle way. For CS patient, place lo face towards your breast and lo other body part out on a pillow. In that position, your tummy wont come close to lo. You can google it

Happy birthday to your cuties nggie & sheweezy. God bless them. My prince turned one on June 4th. Nairaland refused to open. May God bless our LOs. Amen. Make Una do come go again o cheesy.

Mamas please torchlight my matter small. My son walked like two weeks ago but I've noticed that he still crawls more. I was thinking that when once they walk, they rarely go back to crawling. Is this normal? Thanks.

Dear worry not, it' s normal but just encourage him to walk when u see him crawl....calm down ur mind, he will get used to walking sooner.

Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by simababe(f): 3:51am On Jun 09, 2016
@ambient, what I did was to put my ds on a pillow first in order to move him closer to the breast. There's a quote like this"take the child to the breast not the other way round. That way you won't experience waist and arm pain. You can also support ur back with like 4pillows in other to put You in a 60degree position. Enjoy motherhood

New papa here. I salute you all.

My little girl developed umbilical hernia after her cord dropped. As a result, her navel is big and scary looking. I've read so much about it and my question is this.

Where we come from, a child's navel is massaged with hot water or Lantern for three months. This is to allow the navel heal internally and as such, our women don't have issues with stomach ache or menstrual pain etc

I am however afraid to do this for my daughter as her navel is so big and then bulges even more when she cries. Should we keep massaging the navel with hot water as we learnt the umbilical cord site might still be a fresh wound inside.

I don't want her to come to harm if a hot massage is unnecessary but I also don't want her to have stomach issues when she is grown...

Please help me urgently. Thank you.

Hot water or lantern is unnecessary for any infant pls

Why burn the baby? To what end?
If it's for colic- that resolves itself eventually on or before the baby is 3 months
My baby has hernia too and Iv been told of that if the intestines are not trapped in the opening then it's strictly a cosmetic issue

As per the question u asked I don't think there's anything to be worried abt, just encourage him to walk more. Cheers.

mama, from experience, if your baby is coughing and after few days with vitamin c treatment it still persists please go to the hospital, During my daughter's own, it was discovered she had malaria and she was teething. after malaria treatment she was OK, the teeth and the teeth is out now, no more cough.

Mama Onegai...Thanks so much..kisses to your Lo, my only worry is the soap not entering her eyes, my baby does not close her eyes when washing her face infact, washing of face is 3rd world war during bath time, how do I go about it.Thanks

Put very little soap in a wash cloth and use it to clean his face, it doesn't have to be foamy so the foam doesn't enter his eyes. Then you can rinse the washcloth and leave enough water on it, as in don't squeeze out the water completely and use it to wipe off the face again or just use few handful of water to rinse the face,

My dear, one of the last-minute, vital instructions babies were given just before leaving Heaven was "never let anyone touch your face, EVER!".

So that is a losing battle smiley unless some mama here has solved that issue (and she should not tell us, she should write a book and sell the solution and make millions) has some suggestions.

Would it make you feel better if I told you that even tear-free baby wash is not tear-free, the manufacturer's have to put a chemical inside so that babies' eyes don't water?

I use wipes to clean it @daytime and to my surprise, the face is always glowing that people ask me d type of soap I use for him. He is 8months old now.

For d sweating, my baby sweat a lot, what I do is that I make sure he wore something that cover his chest and wear socks for him at night, then I use cover cloth for him when d weather is cooling, remove again when sweating, I have packed his sleeping suits somewhere, not in use for now. Also I make sure d cutton is always raised down at night but windows opened. I think this help.

@ ozycy...Thanks, I will try your method.

@ Onegai... grin grin, can't stop laughing, yes o, I think the instruction was seriously giving to the, also with Don't allow mum clean ur tongue and teeth, that one is another type of war we usually fight everyday and my daughter has fake cries that you will be shocked u at how loud her voice can be.Anytime her dad bath her, he doesn't even bother cleaning her mouth. children ehn.

Hello mamas happy raining o. A ku ojo. Each time I go to clinic, I always like to share with you here what I learnt.
First I'm happy lo is weighing with the EBF though people around are saying am suffering lo with the ebf no water no formula. At 7weeks, he was 5.3 now 7.4kg at 11weeks. Abeg make una clap for me, vigilante no easy. Lol
Yes, I learnt about family planning and cervical cancer -What killed Dora Ahkuyili.
We were advised to come for cervical screening. It's for female who is sexually active, married or single. The cancer eats up the womb's neck and just like Aids, it can kill but early detection saves life.
