Former Nigeria captain and coach Stephen Keshi, 54, is dead.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations-winning coach, who recently lost his wife Kate, suddenly stopped breathing in the early hours of Wednesday in Benin City, Edo State, Completespprtsnigeria.com #itelmobile was informed.
Keshi’s bossom friend and colleague Valere Hounandinou confirmed the sad and shocking news to Completesportsnigeria.com#itelmobile.
Keshi died after complaining of irregular heartbeats, Valere revealed this morning to Completesportsnigeria.com #itelmobile.
“We both spoke on Tuesday afternoon because he was to come to Lagos but he couldn’t make it due to his breathing,” an emotional Valere, who was Keshi’s Super Eagles assistant, began in a chat with Completesportsnigeria.com.
“I told him to go for a check-up which he did and about an hour ago close associate called me tooconfirm his death.”
Valere who is also bereaved of his wife was Keshi’s longest serving assistant.
The Togolese added: “Keshi was a legend and was more than a brother.”
Keshi lost his wife of 33 years Kate to cancer in December. They are survived by four children. #itelmobile.com

Scrolling through News headlines on my it1507 on the early hours of Wednesday there was a news caption that "Nigeria has lost a legend to heart related problem" is a great lost indeed but I pray that his gentle soul rests in peace.
