A new mathree ride christened Golden Phantom is giving passengers commuting between the city centre and Rongai a rare treat.

Golden Phantom has transformed the long, boring hours customers spend in traffic to ‘happy moments’ by allowing the passengers to use expensive tablets installed in the ride. You don’t have to spend bundles on your phone as you run down the clock during traffic.

Customers can access popular applications for free, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram among others. The Golden Phantom does not pass the charges to customers. They charge normal fares just like other mathrees.

Kevin Mbugua who spins this nganya explains that: “Not all passengers are likely to be tech savvy, so we have denim seats installed with custom-made screens on which they can watch their favourite music videos as they travel home.”

Golden Phantom is among the first mathrees to have attractive interior and exterior art, not the old-school graffiti consisting of wallpapers and weird drawings. The design goes well with the clear sunroof.

Kevin Muchiri Nyammo, the brains behind this golden art said: “The shade of gold is pure art that involves playing with the paint brush. We did this to stay ahead of competition.”
