See in the photos below what happened in Lekki Phase 1 after today's rain. Many of the streets in the popular Lekki Phase 1 Lagos got heavily flooded. This area is mostly occupied by the rich ones and are very exorbitant. Can you live in this area if you can afford it? See Photos:

Some peoole abandoned their properties because water comes out from the ground there

Ofcourse I can. Just buy a good SUV or tundra to divide the water like the rod of Moses divided the red sea. Some areas in Houston Texas are worse than this.

That's only if you're aware of the challenge before paying for a property in the area.

Otherwise, the beautiful structures and lovely edifice around would make you pay. The consolation will be "Orun nya'bo... Bi t'enikan ko"

Meanwhile this is no big deal if there's proper water exclusion strategy.

Within 8-10 minutes after any rain, the water will drain off and you'll not see the flooded street again.

The worse of all is VGC.

This is effect of blocked or inadequate drainage system. It can happen anywhere.

I think some areas are more prone to flood than others...no week will go without hearing about flood is some part of Texas.no matter how much it rained in NY within an hour you will only see wet roads..I think flood is not what Government or Richard people can control.
