Bleh bleh bleh bleh bleh like a baby crying out to its mum for breast, the only thing you know in this country is constant bickering and complaints like a revolting parrot, OP just as you know you weren't forced to buy this phones and your country doesn't produce any, so why cant you be happy and live with it and let's hear word. They are many OEMS in Nigeria and theres alot of phones to choose from, they are similar phones from different manufacturers with the same specs but different prices, so theres a lot of choice to choose from different strokes for different folks. You might think a phone of 100k is costly but someone else might think otherwise, dont always look for someone to blame, if its too hard for you to accept it then build a fuqing smartphone company and stop complaining otherwise shut your hole. Jeez

Good thinking.
Let me however enlighten you. Even the high end phones cones with their own regular problems.

Majority of Samsung S4s have SIM recognition problems if not all.

Once you open up an iPhone due to battery problem, you may have to consider the phone dead.

My colleagues newly purchased S7 edge always hangs. When it does hang, it could take HOURS to recover because battery is inbuilt.

Point is, all phones have their problem and if you are buying a phone of 25k then you should expect less. For example, the quality of a Ferrari cannot be compared to that of Kia. Though Ferrari comes with its problems too. It's all about preference and financial capability.

What I am against is the unavailability of repair scraps for some of these phones.

A case where phone makers deliberate set out to rip off the wallet of Nigerians with juicy marketing, only to make a U-turn and do what they ought to do in the first instance. What do I mean? Now, I have seen a couple of phone makers make a certain phone with 1GB RAM, and then 3-months later, they release the same phone with 2GB RAM and add appellations like “Plus, Max, Pro” at the end of the original name. These OEM’s have no “trade-in” policy, they deliberately want Nigerians to dump their new phone and purchase the same phone with a re-branded name. Ouch!

For other phone makers, they make the two variant, 1GB RAM and 2GB RAM, release only the 1GB version in Nigeria and send the two 2GB version to Kenya and UAE because those countries have a government – This is fraud!

The United States has a regulatory body called FCC that checks the quality and authenticity of phones coming into their country. Even the highly rated Xaiomi had a tough time entry the U.S market because of the standards the Chinese OEM had to meet.

Over here in Nigeria, the Standard Organization of Nigeria and NCC allows anything into Nigeria, as if our dear country is dumping ground for some of these phones that should be destroyed at the shores of Nigeria.

I earlier decried the so-called Yezz Mobile Jumia wanted to flood into the market, I am glad the brand was dead on arrival. There are other OEM’s who have established their brand in Nigeria, but now take us for granted with their bizarre business policy – This is fraud, it is dumb and delusional.

It’s even more disheartening that some OEM’s create phones without parts and accessories. They don’t want to offer repair services even when they know their stuff is inferior, they want you to keep buying the same sh!t with the money they don’t deserve.

It is collectively bargain govt and the people.

What I see everywhere in Nigeria is that stealing is not corruption

Do u get that

As long as nobody force you to buy that brand or phone is not corruption.

Govt people don't use such phone. Where is iPhone or others

So you mean it is good to import inferior drugs in Nigeria as long as you wont force people to buy it?
Whats your brain IQ again?

Typical Nigerian response. They do not seek to fix anything rather they blame their own people for the actions of others. This brother is educating people who do not know to warn them and make us demand better service but nope, the typical Back stabbing and betrayer of their very own race Negros will surely come out to defend the master. In the years gone, your kind is known as a "house Nigger"

As much as it is a fraud, I don't see any reason why I should dump my former phone for a new one without at least a good reason.

I have had an iPhone 6+ (a gift) for more than 9months now. I left it packed. Since I got it, does not pick network. So, I took it to some guys in computer village. They told me to bring 30k to update the software, so I can use it in Nigeria.

I just laughed and went to keep it in my wardrobe.

Why should I use all that money to work on the phone when I have a samsung galaxy that is in PERFECT condition? Good battery life and other things. And a steady nokia phone, for my second sim.

I don't like such wastage.
The phone is either locked or faulty or a clone. 30grand to update what software exactly? I'm lost

The greatest culprits are the online shopping sites who help with the procurement, advertising, sales and distribution of these substandard products.

I bought a TV for my old folks on Konga and about 8 months after use, it suddenly went blank. Unfortunately, it was past its warranty period and Konga sold me an electronic product from a company without a service Company in Nigeria.

As for Standards Organisation of Nigeria, those ones are busy playing Candy Crush in their offices. Buhari should just transfer all of them to go and plant tomatoes in Kebbi.
The tv had less than a year of warranty? Why would you buy such a product?
