If newspapers publishers begin to sack workers again tomorrow for lack of enough patronage and sales to maintain their staff, this government will begin to issue threat of sanctions again forgetting that every reaction is a product of an action. The is the same way they pulled out government funds from banks in the name of TSA implementation. |

Make meaningful cut in cost of governance abeg! Reduce the vehicles in your motorcade and sell 7 of the 9 presidential jets then we will know you are serious. Not all these infinitesimal efforts. |

gurunlocker:Muhammad Ali's funeral took place yesterday. Will you buy Punch, Nation, Vanguard, Tribune, Guardian, Sun, ThisDay and Daily Independent to read just to know what took place? What you cannot afford as an individual, don't strive to get it when you are in government. You can't afford eating turkey as an individual but always want to eat it from government's expenses because you are now in government. |

Restrict foreign trips, coz am sure money spent on one trip abroad for one member of the first family will supply the villa with any amount of news papers for 6 months. |

My people. Stop all the unnecessary quarrel. Let's do the math. Numbers don't lie- 100 papers daily at N200 each is less than N8million a year. Each foreign trip buhari took cost $1million. We'll never get the true figure of his medical resting, but it's clearly over a million dollars. Servicing his presidential fleet cost N7billion last year. That amount was actually for grounded planes, not those in constant, active use. How can you then call restricting newspapers 'savings'? And as someone pointed out, these papers are in his budget. Is he going to amend it to reflect the change, or did anyone hear that the funds have been reallocated? |

Quakertellicus1:And the same government is saying they should not lay off workers. How would they pay workers if government don't patronize them? What you call waste and unnecessary is someone's pay check. |
