The fear could be 1. Would you find buyers of property formerly owned by angry and dispossessed people. Powerful ones? 2. How do you ensure properties are not bought on behalf of and in trust of the criminal original owners 3. How do you indemnify buyers against adverse claims by former owners? Remember that the statute of limitations for taking out a suit is longer than the life time of this government.

You've made. Good point. Thats the way it's done, that's how it should be done but sadly this is a very complex society where little works the way it should.

They've made the best call.

Good move.
Also there are some houses at Ikoyi and VI which people claim belong to the FGN but have been vacant for years. FGN needs to revalidate its assets and avoid waste. Imagine the rent income obtainable from such locations.
