@toch1997, and all those having problem with Upwork approving their profile. This is what I think: firstly, Upwork is now reviewing new freelancers' profile. The major reason, is basically to prevent freelancers from being jack of all trade. What are my saying?:-/ You can't choose skills from different categories. You are only allowed to tick one skill from one categories. If you tick other skills, your profile will automatically be rejected. I think they have programmed a bot that will instanty send you amessage in your email that you've been rejected. My advice; tick one skill, ensure your profile is in good shape, then re-submit your profile, I bet they will accept you. How will you know if they accept you? They might allow you to bid for work almost immediately, or send you a notification that you have been accepted. After you have been accepted, you can now complete your profile by adding other skills in the "add other skills" section. Note: you add skills in this section, not tick skills. This was what I did, and I was accepted after several rejection. Try it, and let us know how it went.

I got one today and was required to meet someone on google hangout for an interview and I was being asked some questions though am still on it don't know where it will end. My question now is are they for real or just scammers trying to do some cunny stuffs? Thanks

There are SCAM with a Capital Letter! Flag their job post as inappropriate and immediately report to Upwork support. No serious employer will does that. No serious employer take you out of Upwork except the relationship had been built already - It's against Upwork policy. Those guys want to use your details, they are just scammers trying to do some cunny stuffs. They'll always tell you that they've employed you after an arranged interview on a gmail chat then ask you for further personal details. There are time wasters, seize further communication with them and block them from contacting you either on Upwork or your email.

exactly, that's what I mean. In advertising Category, you nid to choose one sub-catigory like SEO, Or in the writing category, you jst choose web content or creative writing. Dont't choose two; like creative writing and web content writing. Just choose one of the twain.

Editing A 4 Doc Sermon Into A Booklet.

Hi,

This is a 73 page and 42,421 word count (4 docs). I'll send a sample of what I expect to qualified candidates. A 4 day turnaround work to be submitted on Monday 18th July 2016, 9am prompt (Please no stories!). If you're available I can send the documents. If you can't do a professional job/meet the deadline please don't apply.

Here are the key things that I'm looking for:

1. Must be proficient with MS Word Track Changes and Comment functions

2. A good communicator. If you are going to disappear for days on end when there is work to be done, this is not going to be a good fit for you (or for me). Regular updates keep everyone on track - and more importantly, they ensure that deadlines are met.

3. An excellent command of the English language is a given - otherwise, you're going to get frustrated with me, and I'm going to get frustrated with you.

4. You must use 100% human editing No online editing tools.( I know how to use them, but choose not to)

5. Four days turnaround work to be submitted on Monday 9am prompt (Please no stories!)

6. Must give daily updates on work progress to our email.

7. Good knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style

If this opportunity sounds interesting to you, I encourage you to submit a proposal convincing us why you should be given the opportunity to work on this project in just 2 Paragraph so that I can gauge your English skill level. *** When applying, please reference "Am an expert editor available to meet your deadline." somewhere in your submission. If you fail to include this text somewhere in your cover letter, your application will be immediately deleted.

Following directions is critical to the success of the work you'll be doing, and this is a minor test to ensure that you can - and will. When applying, I would appreciate it if you can let me know the following:

1. how quickly you would be able to start
2. what's your availability is on a weekly basis.
3. your Nairaland ID(s) (moniker)

Payment: N5,000 -8,000 (negotiable, based on experience)

Send email to: aprofessor@naij.com
NOTE: Because of the large volume of emails we do receive, we might not be able to acknowledge receipt of emails and also, we don't reply to messages on Nairaland. We'll only contact qualified candidate for the next phase.

Better use the country where God put you which is Naija. Unless you want to start having major problems with payments when they ask you to verify your location.

Please I need urgent reply. Please

I do not know why people do this to themselves. Since you live in the US, you should fill the W-9 tax form and submit your US social security number and Tax ID to the Upwork guys so you can start receiving your payments. Since you are not conversant with the US laws on tax (FATCA) and you are claiming to be a US citizen, prepare to forfeit your earnings. Pray you are not asked to verify your identity and location.

Someone challenged me here to show proof if earnings. I posted one. Another one said na lie, nobody can pay a Nigerian that much. I now show a pic of dollars withdrawn from GTB on my way to Sheraton Abuja to change them, they say I am proud.

You do one, dem go talk. You no do, dem go talk. Success attracts jealousy.

You need to take a chill pill bro. Success is a journey, not a one day thing and if you see success, don't be jealous. Simply ask humbly how you can replicate it and it will be shown you.

Nigerians would just go and destroy our reputation on those sites. That is the major reason i do not share this kind of information on public forum. Lots of unserious folks here. They would just start spamming the sites and not delivering works.

I have some other sites i'm a member of too, but i can't share them here. Can we work together?

The guy you quoted is right. I tried to recruit assistants and only one has proven to be trustworthy. You can see that Upwork has started to tighten up. Too many Nigerian youths are just very unserious.
