Actually, it's a fairly regular occurrence here in Lagos particularly in Ibeju Lekki axis.

The traditional landowners want to live large, so they request for vehicles (Usually exotic SUVs) in exchange for land. The size of land given depends on the vehicle brought and your negotiating power.

I have seen an LR3 and a Range grounded at the front of one of these "Baales" at another, I saw a grounded Benz GL and ML. They obtained the vehicle via vehicle exchange but we're unable to maintain them on the long run.

Overall, my real concern is about the value positioning and perception of the person asking for "cars" in exchange for one the most entrenched assets. There is so much to be worried about with such an orientation. I doubt you could fully secure ownership of that land against such a mindset.
