guys pls I need clarification on my transmission. whenever i put the car in Reverse or Drive... i usually expect the car to move slightly.but my matrix doesnt until power is applied on the pedal. pls what I want to know is this, is it normal?

It depends on some factors, but the cardinal factor is your torque converter. If you have a high stall speed TC installed, it will need some gas to move. Has it always been like that?

yes sir. since it was bought as toks early this year. tho d gear changes perfectly/normally wen driven. thats why it wanted to ask if it was normal, cuz i noticed d other 2001 camry @least moves wen d gear is changed either to reverse or Drive.

Then there is nothing to worry about. Just confirm there is no strange noise when you engage the gear - forward or reverse.

Your brakes may be binding or one of the wheels isn't spinning freely. You may need to jack up each wheel to be sure.

Your fuel consumption will be higher if wheels do not spin freely.

yeah dts tru. bt didnt rly notice any change in fuel consumption. but will sure check all tyres. tnx alot for dt bro...
