I was in the Nigerian Prison, Okere, Warri, Delta State today to see some inmates. The Prison Officials demanded and collected N200.00 from me before I was allowed to see the inmates. They said its an official levy.

So you're even a regular visitor to prison?I think you should escalate it to the Prison authorities, posting it here may not help you much.

if it's my delta state I'm not surprised. The level of corruption in delta state will sink some states in Nigeria.

Thanks for your comment. I am a lawyer and my services take me to the prison as the occasion may demand.

The relevant authorities have since addressed the issue.
