Firstly, I hope something is done about this story because I trust Nigerians to broadcast this until it gets to a decent and incorrigible highly placed officer. The tag number of one of the culprits is 400452. His first name is IBITE and his last name begins with letter "O".

On 8th June 2016, I boarded a Sienna vehicle at Choba, Port Harcourt, just outside Uniport. I was headed to Warri my final destination was Benin. The driver decided to take an alternative route through Aluu community because he heard reports that the usual East-West road was blocked as a result of the crisis.

We go to a roundabout and saw police officers brandishing machetes and rifles. People were running past the checkpoint with their hands in the air, some were seated on the bare floor in the sun, while some were inside the roadside drainage (gutter) in punishment.
I have always heard of DIRECT robbery by the police and I never really believed until 8th June on my way from Port Harcourt. We were ordered to disembark and we were thoroughly harassed in the name of searching. One of our passengers was ordered to sit on the bare ground by the gutter in the sun, for nothing. This Ibite guy with tag number 400452 ordered us to "bring out sontin". He accused of of the on going crisis and said that we were all suspects and should bail ourselves out on the spot. He ordered everyone to empty their wallets and was going to put a young lady in the gutter because she didn't have "plenty" money, until a fellow passenger offered him more money for her.

I opened this nairaland account because of this post and I am willing to identify this man at least. I vividly remember his face and I hope this government we so believe in would do something.

Once again, his first name is Ibite, last names between with an O. Tag number is 400452 on a green colored uniform. He is brown in complexion. He seemed short (5ft 8inches), 70kg, medium build.

Robbery rate in aluu is so bad that even police are engaging in it. Who will then fight for the innocent people.

I wonder. It's just sad. Usually they take money at checkpoints, and with random arrests, but this one is something else.

You should be thanking God they did not Organised charms, guns & some projectiles around your side. Then label you a suspected criminal.



Well, anyone that knows IBITE . O . With NPF service number, 400452 should kindly hand him over to defend or accept this allegation or be charge with abetting crime.
