In a bid to provide quality healthcare for the people of Yobe state, Governor Ibrahim Geidam has built this ultra modern hospital in Damaturu, the state capital. According to reports, the hospital is set to start operation in 6 weeks time. See photos below;

That's brilliant. Let some yeye people calling themselves governors in the south west continue to look for excuses why they are failing to meet up to the peoples' expectations. Time will tell.

But I must say this....


There is nothing "ultra-modern" about the facilities there. They are just average. Judging by technological advances in medicine now, 'ultra modern' has gone beyond a 64slice CT scan, theartre table, ave. anesthetic machine, etc.

If the place should be called "ultra modern", they should boast of Laser therapy, MRI unit, and other facilities for minimal access surgeries, wch is where the world is heading to now.

All I'm saying is that the govt. should see the bigger picture

And they will still travel to treat ordinary ear infection..

The strides of some Northern governors under the current dispensation, despite the paucity of funds, are quite commendable. From the agricultural to the educational revolution across the states, kudos (and criticism) where due is deserved.

Apart from A/Ibom I'm yet to see what the ND states have done with their allocation and 13% derivation among other things. Na to dey shout 'resource control, marginalization' dem sabi.

Truth is if you cannot manage the little you have now, you will still not be able to manage when you have much.

The governor, his children and all his kins will not be treated here, that is the sad fact.
