banmee:I have no problem with suspension while investigation is ongoing. But the guy claims he has never been invited and the allegations were made after he/they left the US. It seems they only need to hear the allegations and assume he/they were guilty. Atleast the first level of investigation should hearing both sides before even any action of suspension would be taken and that's if there is incontrovertible evidence that he was involved. |

out of 10 legislators that went for the trip..... you were single out that means they have strong evidence against you and I guess this will be the first time the embassy will be making such allegations against our lawbreakers so..... I don't believe his rebuttal, but let him go the legal way to clear his name |

I think proper investigation should have been carried out even without the concept of the park attendant after they heard from him before coming out with their headless accusation. |

Nigerians are already insulting these men when they don't know if they were setup or not....why not wait for events to play out first before the tongue lashing.. They have every right to ask for evidence and if no evidence from the us govt. Nigeria should not take the matter as a simple misunderstanding...... |

banmee:Gbam. God will bless you for this statement. It is only an allegation and they have not choice but to deny him access to their country first, while they do the needful. This allegations are really serious and have ended lawmakers careers in the US. If indeed he is innocent no qualms, if not, make he just not travel again. |

XaviDayo:You obviously don't know what US is capable of. I am not saying the man is innocent but then there is no proof yet that he is guilty. Don't crucify him yet. The onus is now on the US to provide CCTV footage of them during their stay. That's not too much to ask from someone who was accused |

Orikinla:But the guy who allegedly groped the housekeeper is probably toast. He can't deny it because his room number is proof and she can probably identify him due to one-on-one interaction. Let's see what the others allegedly soliciting will say. I have a a feeling Gbillah is a case of mistaken identity. |

codedguy1:Do you think that USA is that naive , they have evidence. Forget our politicians: they steal our votes, rght, justice, money, land, properties, women etc what do you think they do in hotesl always |
| Re: Mark Gbillah Responds To Sex Scandal Allegations by banmee(m): 5:42pm On Jun 17, 2016 |
codedguy1:That is not how they do things in the U.S. It doesn't matter who, but if a complaint is made about you, they take the accuser's word before yours, then suspend you so you don't interfere with the investigation. It by no means mean you are guilty. It's just how they do things. |

It's a tradition within intelligence agencies such as the CIA to keep tabs on visiting nationals of other countries especially the ones with security risks. Don't be surprised if the accusers are actually CIA operatives with both video and audio evidence. The CIA I know will not even answer him or the Nigerian government. |

It is noteworthy that a member of our group made a formal complaint to the organisers of the programme about his being defrauded to the tune of about $100 at the Renaissance Hotel Dupont Circle Washington DC but neither the US State Department nor the US Embassy in Nigeria has deemed it fit to take any action or initiate any investigation in this regard. Members of the group also expressed their dissatisfaction, displeasure and disappointment with the organisers of the programme over their inability to organise a single meeting with any member of the US congress and constraining members to meet with only one State Representative and several County Representatives and officials contrary to the initial objectives of the programme. Perhaps there are other underlying reasons behind the lacklustre attitude of the US State Department and the US Embassy towards ensuring proper investigation of these allegations.
