Enwinstle letter did not accuse "Africans" but some 3 senators with name.
There is no such thing as "federal lawmakers" , it is just a tag which has no bearing
on individual characters.

I maintain that the accused must sue the U.S government for defamation of character,
if they fail to do that, then it means they have something to hide.
Don't tell me there is no such thing as federal lawmakers. But I hope they are innocent enough to sue their ass out

After reading a copy of the petition forwarded to the House of Representatives by the US about the alleged immoral conduct of three honourable members, I was shocked at the kind of negative reactions and outright condemnation by Nigerians----even when it hasn't been proven by the petitioner or the hotel management after a month.

Well, I won't defend or feign ignorance of some of the dishonourable dispositions of some of our supposedly honourable leaders, but I wouldn't want an immoral society like the US to blackmail/embarrass the Nigerian state without evidence------just because they want to be seen as a sane society that they are not.

Aside, my suspicion that the immoral and self-acclaimed saints (US) have problems with Nigeria from the day PMB reiterated GEJ's stand on the gay rights, this recent suspected blackmail (atleast until proven otherwise) only reminds me of how we were cajoled by the same WEST into believing that GADDAFI is not just a devilish dictator but one that must be killed.

I must say that no other African leader has served his/her people like our GADDAFI and that, I suspect, was why they deceived us into killing him. They are always swift in condemning anything about Africa and desperate in ensuring that nothing good is allowed to stand in Africa.

Believe me, if the recent Orlando shooting in US wherein over 50 persons were gunned down happened in Africa, you could have heard their president come out to regurgitate absurdities.

Just read through Gaddafi's policies and achievements.

1. There is no electricity bill in Libya, electricity is free for all its citizens.

2. There is no interest on loans, banks in Libya are state-owned and loans given to all its citizens at 0% interest by law.

3. Home considered a human right in Libya – Gaddafi vowed that his parents would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a
home. Gaddafi’s father has died while him, his wife and his mother are still living in a tent.

4. All newlyweds in Libya receive $60,000 Dinar (US$ 50,000 ) by the government to buy their first apartment so to help start up
the family.

5. Education and medical treatments are free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans are literate. Today the figure is 83%.

6. If Libyans want to take up farming career, they would receive farm land, a farming house, equipment, seeds and livestock to kick- start their farms – all for free.

7. If Libyans cannot find the education or medical facilities they need in Libya, the government funds them to go abroad for it – not only free but they get US $2, 300/mth accommodation and car allowance.

8. In Libyan, if a Libyan buys a car, the government subsidized 50% of the price.

9. The price of petrol in Libya is $0. 14 per liter.

10. Libya has no external debt and its reserves amount to $150 billion – now frozen globally.

11. If a Libyan is unable to get employment after graduation the state would pay the average salary of the profession as if he or she is employed until
employment is found.

12. A portion of Libyan oil sale is, credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens.

13. A mother who gave birth to a child receive US $5 ,000

14. 40 loaves of bread in Libya costs $ 0.15

15. 25% of Libyans have a university degree

16. Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project, known as the Great Man- Made River project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country.

If this is called "Dictatorship" I wonder what type of Leadership Democrats have
share links to support this your "facts"

With the way he came to defend himself, it's obvious it could be a case of mistaken identity as he would not have had the audacity to respond to the allegations on air if he was truly guilty knowing fully well he's a diplomat and also that the system over there works so perfectly using forensic and other technical means. I'm tipping that, he's innocent but the US should have acted more diplomatic, the mission Here in nigeria should have carried the accused along in the truth finding since they're first class citizens, it only shows how the US belittles the nation whether a citizen is corrupt or not, he's never tagged in the positive sense. If this could be melted on the lawmakers, what then would be the fate of the ordinary citizens.......?

Nigerians with low mentality, this has given a succinct defence of alibi and also challenged the USA Embassy to grant him the opportunity to go to USA and face prosecution. The surprising aspect is, most of the people above me still don't believe or give him the benefit of doubt. Why are always seeing ourselves as second class to the USA? This is not an issue to be politicized, yet some persons are bringing pdp and apc emotions. I am a pdp member and the guy is an apc member but that doesn't mean I should reason like an HIV infested woman in the words of Fayose

I think the answer lies in the definition of "Sexual assault" and "rape".
Many of the acceptable practise over here may be interpreted as assault
over there.
But I am surprised that you think "honorables" can't be involved in rape
when you and I know that Nigerian politician can do anything because they
have the believe that they can get away with it.
A great many of them act like hyenas one must agree but it is not to say, all of them are unbridled, especially not when the accused have complained about the shoddy manner the whole programme was handled.
For all we know it might be a classic "first to complain" case between both parties and do not tell me the accusers are not wont to go that low.
that the same letter was allowed was allegedly leaked out by the accusers only further supports this viewpoint (if believed)

But nobody was accused of rape na. You clearly didn't read the original story. One person was accused of sexual harassment for holding a hotel maid and asking for sex. The other two were accused of soliciting for prostitutes for asking the parking attendants to help them arrange for prostitutes. No rape involved anywhere in the story.

So if I come to your house with a policeman, accusing you ofstealing my belonging, you'd just follow to the prison without questioning the policeman's taking my word for it as per I have "Identified" you?

Do you think that USA is that naive , they have evidence.

Forget our politicians: they steal our votes, rght, justice, money, land, properties, women etc
what do you think they do in hotesl always
Fair enough if they have hard evidence. I just feel it would have been fair they are confronted with the evidence first before this kind of embarrassment.

With that this particular guy would not be able to write this long rebuttal knowing that if he is confronted with hard evidence he won't be able to bribe his way out if they really want to get them barred from entering the US.

I know the disdain we have for these lawmakers will make us believe a lie against them just to get one over them.

If someone commits a crime and there is no way it can be proven in a court of law, the person goes free.

Nobody is trying to bring the hallowed chamber or Nigeria into disrepute, it is you as an individual they taking about. I dnt think that there must be a video evidence to prove their claims. If thats the case then arrested armed robbers that were not caught in the act should also demand for a video evidence. So plse our highly exalted honourable member let the carry a proper investigation, then we'll know who's guilty.

From what I understand , the normal process of handling such cases is to stand with the complainant,
especially when there is a strong imbalance in power.

And I do not believe that the complainants attempted to assault or intended to foist
prostitutes on the accused but were rebuffed and they resort to reporting the case first,
it sounds ridiculous. I am sure , this man would have
mentioned it, if there is something like that.

They don't assume guilt or innocence. Only their court of law can do that.

My brother, words of mouth is not what is called HEARSAY in law. Hearsay is statement made by somebody who did not witness the incident. This is not what happened here. The woman identified the law maker. Her statement cannot be hearsay.

The evidence may be weak but it's acceptable in law
