Equal rights isn't that what y'all want? The thing is a male and a female can NEVER HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS SINCE THEY DO NOT HAVE EQUAL RESPONSIBILITIES. In some aspects they have the upper hand, i mean you guys even have a ministry dedicated to you, and you still want more?! Won't that be cheating on the male folks now?

“We can never be equal with men, we are here for a great purpose, we have our roles to play we are powerful and we are a force of nature.
“Relationships are suffering today, because women want to be men. You want to be treated like a queen, but you don’t carry yourself like a Queen,”

This quote wraps it up for me...any other reason is null and void cool cool

I'm still to understand what they mean when they say "we can't be equal" like we can't both be humans?
These days, we have women saying stuff like "i can compete with men" instead of being herself and realizing her potentials

Nonsense.
Some people just try so hard to be relevant.
Of course a rapist is superior to her na. Shebi we are not equal.
What is this one saying tori Olorun? Men are now generally equated to rapists?

To think someone spent valuable money educating her..

My next rank is a SFC. I have to do 60 push ups; 70 sit ups; and run two miles in 14 minutes. A woman, same age grade just has to do 20 push ups, 30 sits ups and run two miles in 19 minutes and 30 seconds. Sounds fair right? And that's one instance. There are many.
This is when men in your profession need to stand up and fight, if they feel the system isn't fair to them.

There are people who disagree with the term "gender equality" and then go on to present their reasons in an intelligent way, but this one is just so shallow.

Why is gender in Nigeria always discussed within the context of marriage? Is that all there is to life?

“Relationships today are ending because women want to be men...”

Auntie, you're really one to talk about broken relationships. Were you not married three times before you married the Ooni? Typical Nigerian woman! Get married, put on a cloak of self - righteousness and judge others for the same things you used to do.

Please stick to being an appendage of a custodian of culture and tradition and leave public speaking alone.

It's the people that gave her microphone I blame sef. What was her qualification to give the speech? If I ran into this lady at the airport, I’d probably chat her up about the most recent Yoruba movies I saw on YouTube, definitely not world issues…

What next ? She’s going to share her opinion on climate change? Girl bye!

In Nairaland's feminist voice:

"She got low self esteem"
"She's looking for male attention because she's ugly".
"She's begging for likes on NL"

One frustrated and angry one even turned it into a "race" thingy, saying Dolly was against her "Race" for saying women and men are not equal and that relationship should be based on love and mutual respect not equality.

Meanwhile i heard Mrs. Winifred Akpani, owner and founder of Northwest petroleum is the power behind the new Providus Bank?

Women wey wan achieve, dey achieve, while the confused lot dey run around claiming say (Naija) man na their problem.

Modified: Bitter women don dey call her olosho.. In the absence of superior argument, people turn to insults to score points. I bin think say NL feminist na intelligent people?

Meanwhile for those bitter girls calling her a woman of easy virtue, if you didn't get married to the guy who deflowered you, your first sex partner, or ever been with more than one man you sef be ASHAWO.

Nonsense, I was expecting a better idea but no sense idea. Your contribution is of no effect.

This Edo ashewo better not bring gender inequality to the SW.

Yoruba women
1. Have been queens and ruling over kingdoms in the past

2. Get inheritance unlike their Ibo counterparts

3. Are deemed as equal opponents in politics

4. Are equally as educated as men in Yorubaland

5. Work hard just as men

6. Are equally as respected

You talk AS if someone stole your partner...stop this childish attitude

The feminism movement had no outside support at its inception.
You gotta start from somewhere.

And when did it start? It started a long time ago. I can tell you that there are some feminine NGOs that have been around for a century plus! Do you think men do not complain? But the idea is that females are the lesser ones(well not really lesser but I can't think up a more appropriate word right now), if you complain you will be called a woman. Have you ever called a man a woman? That's the maximum insult, if I call you a man now won't you be offended? Somethings are written down already, you can't change em

Read up on the history of feminism pls.
Women who stood up to fight these things were shut down initially. They endured everything that comes with identifying with the movement. Look at how far they have come and what they have been able to achieve through perseverance.

Why would I call a man a woman? Why would I wanna insult someone and insult myself instead. I am a woman, why would I see myself as an object of insult.

You asked me when it started, i told you it started almost a 100 years ago, I didn't say they were not shut down or anything. Now, do you know why this feminism movement is working at all? Because naturally, it is in the nature of the male folks to protect the female folks. In the classical ages, men do not lay a finger on women, it was infact punishable by law! I can assure you that I too have never laid a finger on any lady either, same as a large portion of the male folks. Not to mention the fact that I would be more inclined to do difficult things for females.

Now reverse the case,a lady can slap a man and instead we will tell the man to just forget it, what can he say? Nothing. A lady can maltreat a man and what do we say? Man up bro, it's their way. If a man starts complaining that their are many scholarships meant specifically for females what will we tell him? Mumu, go and fight with your fellow men, woman wrapper. Do you see the issues there? Do you think men are not being maltreated in MOST cases? The law is as a matter of fact more lenient towards female, a female has a better chance of escaping conviction for murder because she can claim it was in self defence, but look at Oscar Pistorius now. The man cries in court everyday but has it stopped them? No. Abeg, this feminism is absolute rubbish

Keep looking for gender equality when the our Creator asked us to be submissive to our husbands.

There is nothing a man can achieve in Nigeria to a woman cannot.

You people are not looking for any gender equality rather you are looking for something else. Leave our young girls alone. Stop confusing them.

Funny how some think that performing different biological and/or social role/functions, depending on the circumstance, must surely engender and sustain gender inequality. I'm scared of people who reason like that.
