IMO GOVERNMENT CONSOLIDATES EFFORTS ON RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Imo State Government has indicated its preparedness to consolidate its effort in Rural Development through Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP).

Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere stated this yesterday at his office in Government House, Owerri, Imo State while handing over a utility vehicle to the State Coordinator of RAMP, Engr. John Uzor for the State Project implementation unit.

Prince Madumere emphasized that the State Government effort towards industrializing the State especially in the area of Agriculture would receive boost through Rural Access and Mobility Project. Speaking further, he said the project will further help create a conducive environment for business investments in the area of Agriculture in the State.

He also revealed that due to how important the Project is to the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha following the plank of his policy to make Communities become hub of investment and business activities, the State Government has not left any stone unturned to ensure it meets the necessary requirements in the area of governance, procurement procedures and other conditions that are in tandem with world best practices.

He said the project will not only complement huge investment at the rural areas but will further facilitate the large effort in agricultural activities in the rural areas.

Rural Access and Mobility Project is jointly financed by World Bank and French DevelopmentAgency which focuses on Rural Development especially in the area of Roads. This is chiefly for the purposes of ensuring easy transportation of farm produce and development of agro based industries in the rural areas, which ultimately reduces rural-urban migration.

It will be recalled that Imo State Government led by Owelle Rochas Okorocha has paved over 500 kilometers of roads since the inception of his Rescue Mission Administration. It is on this strength that Imo State was able to qualified among few other States in Nigeria.

While thanking Imo State Government for its effort in ensuring that it meets the requirement for the RAMP with a viewing to impacting positively on the lives of the Imolites especially in the area of Agriculture and agribusiness, he promised they will ensure the vehicle is used for the purpose it is intended. He also stated that all the needed structure including training of personnel have all been met.

Simply present the vehicle to one of your propagandists you are here yapping as if any reasonable project is about taking place. Is it not the same way all the wards in all the LG in Imo state were put in a cloud of hope after okorocha's initial gragra.
