If They Could, I Also Can! A Refiner's Story! Miss Nairaland 2016 Grand Finale! by VoteRefiner2016: 1:27pm On Jun 25, 2016
[b]It all started like a child's play some months back when this contest was announced, I was skeptical about it, I chatted with Nairaland friends and majority of them stood and followed a route, "Refiner contest, you are beautiful and intelligent, you can win it and we promise to support and be by you to the end of the contest". This sounded to me like a shock because I never knew these people I called and still call my friends does have faith and believed in me, and what brought laughter out of me was when one of them said and I quote, "Refiner if this was an offline election and form is been sold for it, I and my household would have put money together and purchase you the contest form, just like its done in Nigeria politics"; I laughed and laughed about it and till this moment I'm typing this, I'm still smiling to it.

What seemed like a child's play all of a sudden and within weeks turned into a reality, there was refiner moniker flying all over Nairaland, courtesy by those campaigning for me and of course those throwing tantrum at me, them it dawn on me that I needed to sit up, and I sat up.

There was delay in the contest, some persona gave up but I and my supporters were resolute because our aims turned to making sure we make this contest and me winning a reality. So lucky for us, the organisers responded and it started with an interview for all the contestants. It got to my interview day, I was calm but must admit also frightened, but God came to my aid through my supporters, sympathisers, neutrals and those that never believed in me and I ended the interview in flying colours.

It was time for voting few weeks after, and I was amazed with the level of votes I got from nairalanders, even though I'm not upto 1 year on Nairaland, votes that I got seemed otherwise, from the 1st elimination round to the 2nd and later to the semis, I came 4th according to the results announced by the organisers and such position led me to today's voting, GRAND FINALE!

If Barrack Obama, a black could become the president of US, then I can also win this contest;
If Leicester city fc, a "minor" club in england who battled to escape relegation season before the just concluded season could turn around to win the EPL, then I can win this contest;
If president Muhammadu Buhari, a man who had contested thrice could end up winning the last presidential election, then I also can win this contest.

But, I can't do it alone; just like Jamie Vardie, mahrez, Ngolo kante and other team mates helped Leicester to win the league, so also you, you and you can also help me win this contest with your votes, without you and your votes right now, I won't be able to achieve this. Please I beg you to help me make this a reality with your votes and God will blessing you all.

Kindly note that voting has commenced and it will end by 6pm, today.
