So Wike brought his podium to commission a private estate. grin grin grin grin grin

Wike, when will you complete the Firstbank Estate started by Amaechi? Atleast that one is a Rivers State Government PPP project.
All those shouting Wike is working don't know that it is a private estate.

and 5 storey buildings built on 2 storey foundations

http://punchng.com/police-arrest-lekki-gardens-md-for-collapsed-building/

The Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested the Managing Director of Lekki Gardens, Mr. Richard Nyong, for the collapse of a five-storeyed building under construction on Kushenla Road, Ikate Elegushi, Lagos State, which killed no fewer than 35 persons.

It was learnt that 34-year-old Nyong was apprehended on Thursday.

One of the contractors handling the project, Odofin Taiwo, was arrested on Wednesday.

The building had crumbled around 3am on Tuesday with several workers trapped in the rubble.

It was reported that the state government had sealed the building, which was originally designed to be a three-storeyed structure.

“In a brazen act of defiance and impunity, the owners of the building, Messrs Lekki Worldwide Estate Limited, the promoters of Lekki Gardens, criminally unsealed the property and continued building beyond the approved floors until the unfortunate incident of Tuesday which has led to loss of lives,” a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde had read.

The Lagos State Police spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the arrest.

She said, “The MD, Lekki Gardens, Mr. Richard Nyong, has been arrested. He is in custody and will soon be charged to court.”

this is what wike is endorsing. maybe they will rent the buildings to cultists. cant see how any sane person will rent a house that will turn out to be badly built, if not out right dangerous to occupy

the wike seal of approval .just in case you may actually have been daft enough to think the lives and safety of ph indigenes mean anything to wike, you can think again

this is a man who has not even stayed up to 1year 5mnths in office but has borrowed up to Ninety Billion Naira from commercial bank, soon we shall know what that money was spent on to justify the borrowing and the subsequent servicing of the loan...you can fool some people some times but you can not fool the people all the times

let's not be too sentimental. Ambode was on the recent tour on the dangote refinery yet people gave him thumbs up. Whether it is a government government private project, the fact is it is adding to the state.

Quite unfortunately this estate you are celebrating is a high brow estate built for the rich. Its a luxury estate. I just pity when the common man is so impoverished that we come online to defend people who have sold us out... undecided

Investors confidence on the rise in Rivers State, says Governor [s]Wike Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has stated that investors confidence in the state is on the rise following his administration’s development of critical infrastructure.
Speaking on Tuesday in Port Harcourt while commissioning the multi -billion naira Port Harcourt Gardens Estate, Governor Wike said credible investors are already taking advantage of the prospects of the state.
He said that the return on investment in the state is about the highest in the country, despite a few challenges being experienced .
He said : "Investors are already aware of the benefits of investing in Rivers State, hence they are coming in their numbers. This housing estate is one of the recent investments that have added value to the state.
"I am particularly impressed because the promoters of this project were groomed in this state. They returned because they have confidence in what we are doing in terms of creating an enabling climate for businesses to thrive".
He said several fresh investors are coming to the state without giving excuses because they appreciate what his administration has done to stabilise the state in terms of security and infrastructure.
In his remarks, Chairman of Port Harcourt Gardens Limited, Mr Richard Nyong said that Garden Heights is a private and equisite residential community domiciled in the Government Reserved Area of the Rivers State capital.
He said :"The estate is set to become the focal point of reference to luxury living in Port Harcourt with facilities that offer security and comfort ".
Managing Director of Port Harcourt Gardens Limited, Mr Uche John commended Governor Wike for providing the enabling environment for his company to invest her resources in the state.
He noted that the apartments have been made affordable for the average. According to him, the company will develop three additional housing estates in the state.
The commissioning programme attracted members of the State Executive Council and the business community in the state.

Good one Your Excellency. Please do more for the security of your state. Before investors will be comfortable to stay and to build investments like refineries, industries etc they must be sure of their individual safety and the safety of their investment. Rivers State currently lacks adequate security. When an investor/person arrives or exits the Port Harcourt International Airport right from the gate of the airport you risk being kidnapped or robbed. All inhabitants surrounding towns such as elele, isiopko, omoku, ahoada, obite, abuoa, omagwa, emoha, alu sleep with one of their eyes open due to killings, rapes, murder, robbery committed by so called cultist. As the Chief Security Officer of your Constituent State i plead and urge you to take the security of life and property in your state as a priority if you will excel in bringing investors / investment into the state.

More kudos to Wike who did nat abandon virtually all the projects initiated by Amaechi's administration except that freaking white elephant gift of a mono rail....despite the loggerheads between two of them ...it shows a very high spirit of sportsmanship, maturity and goodwill towards infrastructural development in the state... I bet you if it where to be Amaechi you and I know the reverse would be the case...

Hahaha. Blind support nor good. The guy just saw the name Wike and started singing praises.

Just to keep it balanced, read what your Pro-APC & Pro-Ameachi guy said below:

"Thanks to rotimi Amechi who gave the master plan and initiated the project to roofing level before leaving the office"

Well people should know that this is a Lekki Gardens project, the developers of the building that crashed in Lagos. it was renamed to Portharcourt Gardens.

But what kind of people are we?

The same Nyong that is still on trial for the collapse of one of his estate buildings and that has been called out severally for the poor standards of his buildings is now commissioning another set of these type of buildings when he should be in incarceration awaiting the hammer of the law.

I hope we won't come back here to share any bad news from this issue again

am surprised at wike fans for the hypes! He is commissioning other people's project to score credit from his fans, what project has he really initiated and finished. 95% of the projects so commissioned were 98% completed by ex- governor Amaechi.
