There is a song that says don't build your house on the sandy land, don't build it too near the shore, well it might look kind of nice, but you have to build it twice, so you have to build your house once more.

You planted on unsuitable soil.

This soil is low on potash, thankfully chicken poop contains lots of it. Mulch the soil with dead leaves and dried chicken poop , water it. Do this twice a week for four weeks and watch the difference.
