No. The development squad is strictly the remit of the TD in any club in the world.

Some of us were hoping that the likes of Ake and MVG stick around long enough for preseason so Conte can see them, assess them and make a decision on them. The decision has been taken out of his hands.

Conte is sitting in his hotel room somewhere prepping for Germany match, and all he would know about this is that Chelsea has one small boy on loan at Watford last season and now he has been loaned to Bournemouth.

Do you think Conte can assess or know the 50+ players we have out on loan? This is where the likes of Rumennige and co show the difference between a good TD and Aba made TD.
