May the day come when the USA will be dismantled like the former USSR, that day will signal peace for the whole world, especially the Muslim world that are being destabilised by America wicked conspiracies. My sincere independence greetings however still go to those Americans who stand for justice and work for world peace not minding the wicked stand of their pretentious government. |

oglalasioux:Stop being myopic of his statement, he meant ''Long weekend'' and not weekend what he is trying or saying is ''It will be a long weekend'' which means weekend + Monday makes it a long weekend since the monday is a free work day = Holiday. I hope you now get it, it was simply comprehension you needed to had employed to understand what he meant, i guess now you have learnt something new . |
| Re: Oby Ezekwesili And Kwankwaso Celebrate USA Independence In Abuja by oglalasioux(m): 7:58pm On Jul 03, 2016 |
shumuel:There's no way you can make a Monday weekend no matter how you try. I don't want to know what he is thinking because I don't share his mind. That he lives in America cannot make Monday weekend. Holiday? Yes but not weekend. Weekend means end of the week. When people make mistakes it's only honourable to admit it. Please refer to where my mentions started to know how we got where we are. (I'm a village boy; just in case you think I've ever been anywhere not to talk of America.) |

oglalasioux:kikiki Lol first let me laugh @ the bolded. Now, bro; If a public holiday falls on a Friday or Monday its called long weekend, simple its just called that way, more like a swag thing, it doesn't mean, the friday or the monday is now or will forever be themed ''weekend'' just as Thursday would be Ramadan, doesn't mean next year's July 6th or 7th would be forever called Ramandan, now please tell me you've got it don't worry bro, we will all leave this country soonest, so stop being bother if someone is living abroad or not, i noticed you are irated by that and it beclouded you from accepting or should i say getting it. now about admitting if someone is wrong, i guess you need to make use of that your statement now, its honourably, isn't it ? |
| Re: Oby Ezekwesili And Kwankwaso Celebrate USA Independence In Abuja by oglalasioux(m): 8:28pm On Jul 03, 2016 |
shumuel:Holidays are holidays. Weekends are weekends. When Ramadan falls on a weekend it's a Ramadan holiday that falls on a weekend. When it falls on a week day it's not weekend it's holiday just like this year as you pointed out. That's the reason former president Olusegun Obasanjo decreed that any holiday that falls on a weekend will be observed in the next week day. Why? Because holidays are different from weekends. I'm still a village boy and it guarantees that a week day is different from a weekend. |

shumuel:US foreign missions have the latitude to adjust the date they celebrate events abroad, e.g. in 2015, US Independence day was celebrated in June in Indonesia, because the US ambassador there felt it necessary to coordinate things with the Ramada fasting/festival. You guys are just making much ado about nothing. |

oglalasioux:It may be a small party, in U.S, the party started on Saturday. If it on Monday, they may not get as much Nigerians to come. However, I don't see anhything wrong with a few Nigerians celebrating with them It is their right as long as they are not giving unnecessary info to the U.S. |
